Installation Guide

No wiring here — just careful measuring, drilling, and mounting. Mortice locks take a bit more patience than a simple knob.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — surface installation on doors, drawers, or cabinetry; check your product's dimensions for placement and drilling points

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), drill and drill bits, Allen key
  • Tape measure, pencil, level
  • Chisel (for mortice lock installation)
  • Screws and anchors, safety goggles

Step by step

  1. Cabinet hardware — mark drilling points — use a tape measure and pencil; a template helps for uniformity across multiple pieces.
  2. Cabinet hardware — drill holes — use a bit matched to the screw diameter, keeping the drill straight.
  3. Cabinet hardware — mount — insert screws from inside the cabinet or drawer, secure the hardware on the front face, and tighten without overtightening.
  4. Cabinet hardware — align and inspect — confirm straightness and spacing before fully securing.
  5. Thumb lock or dummy handle — confirm orientation — determine left- or right-hand door swing and adjust as needed.
  6. Thumb lock or dummy handle — mark installation height — typically 36–38 inches from the floor to the handle center; align the mounting plate.
  7. Thumb lock or dummy handle — drill and attach — drill pilot holes and secure the backplate and handle with the included screws. Dummy handles install directly, no latch mechanism.
  8. Thumb lock only — install the strike plate — mark the latch location on the door frame, chisel a recess if needed, and screw the strike plate in.
  9. Mortice lock — cut the mortice pocket — use a chisel and drill to create a cavity in the door edge, following the provided measurements.
  10. Mortice lock — insert the lock body — fit it into the cavity and attach through the faceplate with screws.
  11. Mortice lock — install the handle — align the spindle through the lock, attach handles on both sides, and tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key.
  12. Mortice lock — install the cylinder (if applicable) — insert the key cylinder and secure with the cylinder screw from the door edge.
  13. Mortice lock — mount the strike plate — align with the latch mechanism and secure to the door frame.

Good to know

  • Double-check measurements before drilling.
  • Use a level for consistent alignment across multiple units.
  • If you're unfamiliar with mortice installation, consult a locksmith or professional.
  • Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly before final tightening.
  • Dummy handles are decorative or pull-only — they don't engage latches or locks.

Anodized — light, but built to hold

The Posadas is machined from aluminum and anodized rather than plated, so the finish is sealed into the metal instead of sitting on top of it. That keeps the color from wearing thin at the grip points, even under daily use across a full kitchen's worth of drawers.

Innovative engineering. Intelligent design.

Frequently Asked Questions

What material is the Posadas Cabinet Pull made from?

Anodized aluminum — a lightweight metal with a sealed finish that resists everyday scuffing better than a plated surface would.

What type of finish does it have?

An anodized finish available in gold, black, or grey, chosen to stay consistent in tone and resist fading with daily contact.

How is the Posadas Cabinet Pull manufactured?

It's machined from solid aluminum stock and anodized to lock the color into the metal surface, rather than plated or painted on top.

What design style does it suit?

Its soft curved profile and clean finish suit modern and contemporary cabinetry, adding a touch of movement to otherwise straight-lined kitchens and wardrobes.

Where can it be installed?

On kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, drawers, and bathroom vanities — anywhere a standard two-hole pull bar would normally mount.

What defines its shape?

A shallow, continuous curve runs the full length of the bar instead of a straight or angular profile, giving it a softer, more sculptural read on the door face.

Does it feel heavy or lightweight?

Lightweight — anodized aluminum keeps the pull noticeably lighter than solid brass options while still holding up firmly to daily use.

Is it comfortable for daily use?

Yes — the smooth curved surface sits comfortably across the fingers, without sharp edges or corners to catch on.

How does it affect cabinetry visually?

The curve adds a subtle sense of movement to flat cabinet fronts, breaking up straight lines without overwhelming a minimal kitchen or wardrobe design.

Is the finish durable for everyday use?

Yes — anodizing seals the color into the aluminum itself, so it holds up to the daily contact of opening drawers and cabinets far better than a surface coating.
