Installation Guide

No wiring here — just careful measuring, drilling, and mounting. Mortice locks take a bit more patience than a simple knob.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — surface installation on doors, drawers, or cabinetry; check your product's dimensions for placement and drilling points

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), drill and drill bits, Allen key
  • Tape measure, pencil, level
  • Chisel (for mortice lock installation)
  • Screws and anchors, safety goggles

Step by step

  1. Cabinet hardware — mark drilling points — use a tape measure and pencil; a template helps for uniformity across multiple pieces.
  2. Cabinet hardware — drill holes — use a bit matched to the screw diameter, keeping the drill straight.
  3. Cabinet hardware — mount — insert screws from inside the cabinet or drawer, secure the hardware on the front face, and tighten without overtightening.
  4. Cabinet hardware — align and inspect — confirm straightness and spacing before fully securing.
  5. Thumb lock or dummy handle — confirm orientation — determine left- or right-hand door swing and adjust as needed.
  6. Thumb lock or dummy handle — mark installation height — typically 36–38 inches from the floor to the handle center; align the mounting plate.
  7. Thumb lock or dummy handle — drill and attach — drill pilot holes and secure the backplate and handle with the included screws. Dummy handles install directly, no latch mechanism.
  8. Thumb lock only — install the strike plate — mark the latch location on the door frame, chisel a recess if needed, and screw the strike plate in.
  9. Mortice lock — cut the mortice pocket — use a chisel and drill to create a cavity in the door edge, following the provided measurements.
  10. Mortice lock — insert the lock body — fit it into the cavity and attach through the faceplate with screws.
  11. Mortice lock — install the handle — align the spindle through the lock, attach handles on both sides, and tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key.
  12. Mortice lock — install the cylinder (if applicable) — insert the key cylinder and secure with the cylinder screw from the door edge.
  13. Mortice lock — mount the strike plate — align with the latch mechanism and secure to the door frame.

Good to know

  • Double-check measurements before drilling.
  • Use a level for consistent alignment across multiple units.
  • If you're unfamiliar with mortice installation, consult a locksmith or professional.
  • Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly before final tightening.
  • Dummy handles are decorative or pull-only — they don't engage latches or locks.

Slender — without losing its weight

The Zuheros bar narrows gradually from each rounded mount toward the middle, a small adjustment that changes how the whole piece reads on a cabinet front — lighter, more linear. Solid brass keeps the actual heft consistent regardless of the visual slimming, so it still feels substantial in hand.

Innovative engineering. Intelligent design.

Frequently Asked Questions

What material is the Zuheros Knob & Pull Bar made from?

Solid brass, finished in a vintage tone designed to develop character over time — the material carries real weight through its tapered length rather than feeling hollow.

What design style does this hardware feature?

A slender, tapered bar with rounded mounts at each end — a balanced, linear profile that reads as both classic and quietly contemporary depending on the cabinetry it's paired with.

What finish does the Zuheros Knob & Pull Bar have?

A vintage-brass finish, chosen for its warm tone and its tendency to deepen naturally with handling rather than stay flat and unchanging over time.

Is this hardware suitable for modern interiors?

Yes — the tapered, minimal form keeps it from reading overly ornate, so it fits naturally into contemporary kitchens as well as more traditional cabinetry.

Where can this knob and pull bar be used?

Kitchens, wardrobes, bathroom vanities, and built-in storage — the pull bars suit larger cabinet fronts, while the matching knob works well on smaller drawers.

Do the knob and pull bar match each other?

Yes — both share the same tapered, rounded-mount design language and vintage-brass finish, so a full kitchen using both pieces reads as one coordinated set.

Is the grip comfortable for daily use?

Yes — despite its slender profile, the bar is sized with enough depth for a secure, comfortable grip during everyday opening and closing.

Does the aged brass finish show wear easily?

It's designed to age gracefully rather than show conventional wear — any change in tone from handling reads as natural patina, adding to the character rather than detracting from it.

Is this hardware suitable for rustic interiors?

Yes — the warm vintage-brass tone and understated tapered form work well in rustic and transitional kitchens alongside natural wood and stone.

Why choose solid brass hardware?

Solid brass resists corrosion, holds its weight over decades of use, and ages by developing character rather than degrading — a longer-lasting choice than lighter plated alternatives.
