Installation Guide

No wiring here — just careful measuring, drilling, and mounting. Mortice locks take a bit more patience than a simple knob.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — surface installation on doors, drawers, or cabinetry; check your product's dimensions for placement and drilling points

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), drill and drill bits, Allen key
  • Tape measure, pencil, level
  • Chisel (for mortice lock installation)
  • Screws and anchors, safety goggles

Step by step

  1. Cabinet hardware — mark drilling points — use a tape measure and pencil; a template helps for uniformity across multiple pieces.
  2. Cabinet hardware — drill holes — use a bit matched to the screw diameter, keeping the drill straight.
  3. Cabinet hardware — mount — insert screws from inside the cabinet or drawer, secure the hardware on the front face, and tighten without overtightening.
  4. Cabinet hardware — align and inspect — confirm straightness and spacing before fully securing.
  5. Thumb lock or dummy handle — confirm orientation — determine left- or right-hand door swing and adjust as needed.
  6. Thumb lock or dummy handle — mark installation height — typically 36–38 inches from the floor to the handle center; align the mounting plate.
  7. Thumb lock or dummy handle — drill and attach — drill pilot holes and secure the backplate and handle with the included screws. Dummy handles install directly, no latch mechanism.
  8. Thumb lock only — install the strike plate — mark the latch location on the door frame, chisel a recess if needed, and screw the strike plate in.
  9. Mortice lock — cut the mortice pocket — use a chisel and drill to create a cavity in the door edge, following the provided measurements.
  10. Mortice lock — insert the lock body — fit it into the cavity and attach through the faceplate with screws.
  11. Mortice lock — install the handle — align the spindle through the lock, attach handles on both sides, and tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key.
  12. Mortice lock — install the cylinder (if applicable) — insert the key cylinder and secure with the cylinder screw from the door edge.
  13. Mortice lock — mount the strike plate — align with the latch mechanism and secure to the door frame.

Good to know

  • Double-check measurements before drilling.
  • Use a level for consistent alignment across multiple units.
  • If you're unfamiliar with mortice installation, consult a locksmith or professional.
  • Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly before final tightening.
  • Dummy handles are decorative or pull-only — they don't engage latches or locks.

Texture — framing the dome, not competing with it

The Trigueros pairs a smooth domed face with a finely textured band around its edge, so the two surfaces read as distinct without fighting for attention. That contrast is where the fingers land when the knob is turned, giving real grip alongside the visual detail. Solid brass runs through the whole piece.

Innovative engineering. Intelligent design.

Frequently Asked Questions

What material is the Trigueros Knob made of?

Solid brass, finished in a vintage tone that's built to develop its own character over years of handling rather than stay static like a sealed lacquer coating.

What makes the design of the Trigueros Knob unique?

It pairs a gently domed face with a finely textured edge band, giving it a stepped, layered profile rather than the single flat curve found on most simple knobs.

What is a knurled band and why is it useful?

A knurled or textured band is a fine ridged pattern cut into the edge — beyond adding visual detail, it gives the fingers extra grip, which is especially useful with wet or full hands.

What finish does the Trigueros Knob have?

It comes in a vintage-brass finish — a warm, slightly aged tone designed to deepen further with regular use rather than stay bright and untouched.

Is the Trigueros Knob comfortable for daily use?

Yes — the domed shape and textured edge are sized and shaped for a natural, secure grip, making it comfortable for frequent everyday opening and closing.

What interior styles does the Trigueros Knob match?

Its classic proportions and warm brass tone work in both modern kitchens and more traditional interiors, making it a flexible choice across cabinetry styles.

Where can I use the Trigueros Knob?

It suits kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, bathroom vanities, and furniture drawers — anywhere a considered, classic brass knob fits the hardware you already have.

Does the Trigueros Knob work for cabinetry and furniture?

Yes — its compact scale and versatile finish make it suitable for both built-in cabinetry and standalone furniture pieces like dressers and sideboards.

What kind of look does the Trigueros Knob create?

A warm, considered detail that reads as classic rather than trend-driven — the domed face and textured edge give it presence without being overly ornate.

Why will I love the Trigueros Knob?

It combines real solid-brass weight with a comfortable, secure grip and a proportion that works across many kitchen and furniture styles without feeling generic.
