The Object

Facetscut into solid brass

Rialp carries a faceted knob and elongated pull in matching profile, tapered ends bringing a small architectural rhythm to a run of drawers. Solid brass gives it real weight in the hand, not the hollow lightness of cheaper hardware. Left alone, the brass deepens into its own patina — a detail that improves the more it's used.
Why you'll love it
  • Solid brass — substantial weight, lasting durability
  • Faceted knob and pull share one design language
  • Tapered ends with subtle fluted detailing
  • Suits kitchens, wardrobes, and bathroom vanities
  • Develops a natural patina with everyday use
Details

No wiring here — just careful measuring, drilling, and mounting. Mortice locks take a bit more patience than a simple knob.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — surface installation on doors, drawers, or cabinetry; check your product's dimensions for placement and drilling points

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), drill and drill bits, Allen key
  • Tape measure, pencil, level
  • Chisel (for mortice lock installation)
  • Screws and anchors, safety goggles

Step by step

  1. Cabinet hardware — mark drilling points — use a tape measure and pencil; a template helps for uniformity across multiple pieces.
  2. Cabinet hardware — drill holes — use a bit matched to the screw diameter, keeping the drill straight.
  3. Cabinet hardware — mount — insert screws from inside the cabinet or drawer, secure the hardware on the front face, and tighten without overtightening.
  4. Cabinet hardware — align and inspect — confirm straightness and spacing before fully securing.
  5. Thumb lock or dummy handle — confirm orientation — determine left- or right-hand door swing and adjust as needed.
  6. Thumb lock or dummy handle — mark installation height — typically 36–38 inches from the floor to the handle center; align the mounting plate.
  7. Thumb lock or dummy handle — drill and attach — drill pilot holes and secure the backplate and handle with the included screws. Dummy handles install directly, no latch mechanism.
  8. Thumb lock only — install the strike plate — mark the latch location on the door frame, chisel a recess if needed, and screw the strike plate in.
  9. Mortice lock — cut the mortice pocket — use a chisel and drill to create a cavity in the door edge, following the provided measurements.
  10. Mortice lock — insert the lock body — fit it into the cavity and attach through the faceplate with screws.
  11. Mortice lock — install the handle — align the spindle through the lock, attach handles on both sides, and tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key.
  12. Mortice lock — install the cylinder (if applicable) — insert the key cylinder and secure with the cylinder screw from the door edge.
  13. Mortice lock — mount the strike plate — align with the latch mechanism and secure to the door frame.

Good to know

  • Double-check measurements before drilling.
  • Use a level for consistent alignment across multiple units.
  • If you're unfamiliar with mortice installation, consult a locksmith or professional.
  • Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly before final tightening.
  • Dummy handles are decorative or pull-only — they don't engage latches or locks.

On the metal

Solid brassnever hollow

Cast from solid brass rather than plated over a lighter metal, Rialp carries genuine heft the moment you touch it. The faceted surface and tapered ends aren't just decorative — they give fingers something to grip beyond a smooth curve. Over years of daily use, the brass will darken and soften into its own patina.

Frequently asked

Solid brass throughout, chosen for its weight, durability, and the way it ages into a natural patina with everyday handling.

A balanced, sculptural form with faceted detailing and tapered ends — refined and architectural rather than plain or purely minimalist.

The set includes a faceted knob and a matching elongated pull bar, sized for smaller drawers and taller doors respectively, so they can be paired for a cohesive look.

A warm bronze finish that highlights the natural richness of the brass and deepens further with age.

It suits kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, bathroom vanities, and custom furniture — anywhere cohesive brass hardware is wanted across drawers and doors.

Yes, it mounts to the face of cabinets and drawers with standard screws through pre-drilled holes matched to the listed hole spacing.

Yes — both share the same faceted profile and tapered detailing, designed to be used together for a consistent look across a kitchen or wardrobe.

The faceted surface and fluted tapering give it a sculptural quality that flat or purely cylindrical hardware doesn't have, adding quiet detail to cabinetry.

Yes — its refined, faceted profile works well in interiors where hardware is meant to be noticed, not just functional.

Yes — beyond its look, solid brass resists corrosion and wear far better than plated alternatives, meaning the hardware holds up to years of daily opening and closing.
