The rods are acrylic — chosen because it transmits integrated LED light along its full length by internal reflection. The frame is iron, powder-coated in the chosen finish. No glass, no exposed bulbs.
The LED is integrated into the frame — it's not a replaceable bulb. The LED is rated for 50,000+ hours, so under normal use you won't need to address this for many years.
