Installation Guide

No wiring here — just careful measuring, drilling, and mounting. Mortice locks take a bit more patience than a simple knob.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — surface installation on doors, drawers, or cabinetry; check your product's dimensions for placement and drilling points

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), drill and drill bits, Allen key
  • Tape measure, pencil, level
  • Chisel (for mortice lock installation)
  • Screws and anchors, safety goggles

Step by step

  1. Cabinet hardware — mark drilling points — use a tape measure and pencil; a template helps for uniformity across multiple pieces.
  2. Cabinet hardware — drill holes — use a bit matched to the screw diameter, keeping the drill straight.
  3. Cabinet hardware — mount — insert screws from inside the cabinet or drawer, secure the hardware on the front face, and tighten without overtightening.
  4. Cabinet hardware — align and inspect — confirm straightness and spacing before fully securing.
  5. Thumb lock or dummy handle — confirm orientation — determine left- or right-hand door swing and adjust as needed.
  6. Thumb lock or dummy handle — mark installation height — typically 36–38 inches from the floor to the handle center; align the mounting plate.
  7. Thumb lock or dummy handle — drill and attach — drill pilot holes and secure the backplate and handle with the included screws. Dummy handles install directly, no latch mechanism.
  8. Thumb lock only — install the strike plate — mark the latch location on the door frame, chisel a recess if needed, and screw the strike plate in.
  9. Mortice lock — cut the mortice pocket — use a chisel and drill to create a cavity in the door edge, following the provided measurements.
  10. Mortice lock — insert the lock body — fit it into the cavity and attach through the faceplate with screws.
  11. Mortice lock — install the handle — align the spindle through the lock, attach handles on both sides, and tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key.
  12. Mortice lock — install the cylinder (if applicable) — insert the key cylinder and secure with the cylinder screw from the door edge.
  13. Mortice lock — mount the strike plate — align with the latch mechanism and secure to the door frame.

Good to know

  • Double-check measurements before drilling.
  • Use a level for consistent alignment across multiple units.
  • If you're unfamiliar with mortice installation, consult a locksmith or professional.
  • Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly before final tightening.
  • Dummy handles are decorative or pull-only — they don't engage latches or locks.

A surface — that never sits flat

Rather than a smooth cast face, the Quesada's brass carries a deliberate organic texture, catching and scattering light unevenly across the curve. It's a small detail that changes how the pull reads throughout the day — quieter in flat light, more sculptural under a raking angle.

Innovative engineering. Intelligent design.

Frequently Asked Questions

What material is the Quesada Drawer Pull made from?

Solid brass throughout, not plated — which is what allows it to develop a genuine, evolving patina with regular handling over time.

What design style does this drawer pull feature?

A half-moon silhouette with a textured surface, sitting somewhere between modern and timeless — sculptural enough to be a focal point on its own.

What finish is available for this drawer pull?

Vintage brass — a warm metallic tone chosen specifically to age gracefully rather than stay static, deepening in character the more it's used.

Where can the Quesada Drawer Pull be installed?

On kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, bathroom vanities, or custom furniture pieces — anywhere a standard two-hole pull would normally mount.

Is this drawer pull decorative or minimal in appearance?

It leans decorative — the textured surface and curved half-moon shape create a genuine focal point rather than disappearing into the cabinet front.

Does the design provide a comfortable grip?

Yes — the ergonomic curve and textured surface give a secure, comfortable hold, with the texture adding real traction beyond a smooth cast finish.

What makes this drawer pull stand out visually?

Its organic textured surface catches light unevenly across the curve, giving it a handcrafted, sculptural quality that a plain smooth pull doesn't have.

Is the Quesada Drawer Pull suitable for modern interiors?

Yes — its balanced half-moon form reads as both modern and timeless, fitting comfortably into contemporary kitchens as well as more classic cabinetry.

Does the brass finish affect the overall look of the pull?

Significantly — the vintage brass tone combined with the textured surface gives the pull warmth and visual depth that a plain polished finish wouldn't have.

Is this drawer pull meant to blend in or stand out?

It's designed to stand out as a considered detail — the sculptural half-moon shape and texture make it a quiet focal point on any cabinet front.
