Installation Guide

No wiring here — just careful measuring, drilling, and mounting. Mortice locks take a bit more patience than a simple knob.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — surface installation on doors, drawers, or cabinetry; check your product's dimensions for placement and drilling points

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), drill and drill bits, Allen key
  • Tape measure, pencil, level
  • Chisel (for mortice lock installation)
  • Screws and anchors, safety goggles

Step by step

  1. Cabinet hardware — mark drilling points — use a tape measure and pencil; a template helps for uniformity across multiple pieces.
  2. Cabinet hardware — drill holes — use a bit matched to the screw diameter, keeping the drill straight.
  3. Cabinet hardware — mount — insert screws from inside the cabinet or drawer, secure the hardware on the front face, and tighten without overtightening.
  4. Cabinet hardware — align and inspect — confirm straightness and spacing before fully securing.
  5. Thumb lock or dummy handle — confirm orientation — determine left- or right-hand door swing and adjust as needed.
  6. Thumb lock or dummy handle — mark installation height — typically 36–38 inches from the floor to the handle center; align the mounting plate.
  7. Thumb lock or dummy handle — drill and attach — drill pilot holes and secure the backplate and handle with the included screws. Dummy handles install directly, no latch mechanism.
  8. Thumb lock only — install the strike plate — mark the latch location on the door frame, chisel a recess if needed, and screw the strike plate in.
  9. Mortice lock — cut the mortice pocket — use a chisel and drill to create a cavity in the door edge, following the provided measurements.
  10. Mortice lock — insert the lock body — fit it into the cavity and attach through the faceplate with screws.
  11. Mortice lock — install the handle — align the spindle through the lock, attach handles on both sides, and tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key.
  12. Mortice lock — install the cylinder (if applicable) — insert the key cylinder and secure with the cylinder screw from the door edge.
  13. Mortice lock — mount the strike plate — align with the latch mechanism and secure to the door frame.

Good to know

  • Double-check measurements before drilling.
  • Use a level for consistent alignment across multiple units.
  • If you're unfamiliar with mortice installation, consult a locksmith or professional.
  • Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly before final tightening.
  • Dummy handles are decorative or pull-only — they don't engage latches or locks.

Polish — smoothed to one tone

Where brushed brass shows texture, Pinar's chrome finish smooths everything into one even tone. The curve of the knob carries straight through into the pull bar, so a run of cabinets reads as a single considered gesture rather than separate pieces. It's a quiet finish, built to sit in the background of a modern kitchen.

Innovative engineering. Intelligent design.

Frequently Asked Questions

What material is the Pinar Cabinet Pull made from?

Pinar is solid brass underneath, finished with a polished chrome plating that gives it a smooth, even, cool-toned surface.

What type of finish does this cabinet hardware have?

A polished chrome finish, applied for a subtle, consistent sheen rather than a mirror-bright shine — smooth to the eye and to the touch.

What is the design style of the Pinar Cabinet Pull?

It's minimal and curved, designed to sit quietly on modern cabinetry without pulling attention away from the room around it.

Is the Pinar hardware comfortable to use daily?

Yes — every edge is rounded, so the knob and pull bar feel smooth and comfortable in the hand even with frequent daily opening and closing.

Where can this knob and pull bar be installed?

It works across cupboards, cabinets, drawers, and wardrobes, making it easy to use one hardware family throughout a kitchen or bathroom.

Is this suitable for contemporary interiors?

Does the polished finish require special maintenance?

Just a wipe with a soft, damp cloth to keep it looking clean. Avoid abrasive cleaners, which can dull the polished surface over time.

Yes — the solid brass base holds its shape and finish well under regular use, standing up to the daily handling cabinet hardware sees.

Can this hardware be used in kitchens and bathrooms?

Yes — its smooth chrome finish is well suited to both kitchens and bathrooms, where a cool, clean-looking hardware tone is often preferred.

What makes this product visually appealing?

The consistent curve across knob and pull bar, paired with the even polished finish, gives Pinar a calm, cohesive look that scales cleanly across a whole room.
