Fabricwrapped around light

Parauta layers a rounded fabric shade over a metal frame, the fabric taking the place of glass or metal as the light's final filter. The result diffuses evenly, softer at the edges than a hard shade would allow. It hangs with a calm, floating presence over a table without ever feeling heavy.
Why you'll love it
  • Fabric shade diffuses light into a soft, even glow
  • Rounded, layered form reads as sculptural overhead
  • Metal frame provides clean structural support
  • Suits dining tables, kitchens, and living spaces
  • Replaceable E27 LED, dimmable on request
Details

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

Good to know

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

On the shade

Softnessheld by structure

Fabric behaves differently from glass or metal as a shade — it doesn't just diffuse light, it absorbs some of the hard edge, leaving a softer, more layered glow behind. The metal frame underneath keeps the rounded silhouette from collapsing, structure and softness working against each other in the same fixture.

What the fabric does to the light.
Soft glow

Fabric diffuses the light more gently than glass, easing the visible edge.

Layered form

A rounded, tiered shade that reads as sculptural even when unlit.

Table-ready

An adjustable drop suits dining tables, islands, and living-room corners.
