The Object

Two formsone brass language

Oliana pairs a rounded knob with a slender pull bar, both cut from solid brass and finished with the same soft brush. Gentle contours meet the hand comfortably on either piece, so a kitchen or wardrobe reads as one considered set rather than mismatched hardware. Brass ages here, warming with every touch.
Why you'll love it
  • Solid brass knob and pull bar, cut for a coordinated set
  • Softly brushed finish develops a natural patina
  • Rounded contours feel smooth and reassuring to grip
  • Knob suits smaller doors, pull bar suits drawers
  • Works across kitchens, wardrobes, and vanities
Details

No wiring here — just careful measuring, drilling, and mounting. Mortice locks take a bit more patience than a simple knob.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — surface installation on doors, drawers, or cabinetry; check your product's dimensions for placement and drilling points

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), drill and drill bits, Allen key
  • Tape measure, pencil, level
  • Chisel (for mortice lock installation)
  • Screws and anchors, safety goggles

Step by step

  1. Cabinet hardware — mark drilling points — use a tape measure and pencil; a template helps for uniformity across multiple pieces.
  2. Cabinet hardware — drill holes — use a bit matched to the screw diameter, keeping the drill straight.
  3. Cabinet hardware — mount — insert screws from inside the cabinet or drawer, secure the hardware on the front face, and tighten without overtightening.
  4. Cabinet hardware — align and inspect — confirm straightness and spacing before fully securing.
  5. Thumb lock or dummy handle — confirm orientation — determine left- or right-hand door swing and adjust as needed.
  6. Thumb lock or dummy handle — mark installation height — typically 36–38 inches from the floor to the handle center; align the mounting plate.
  7. Thumb lock or dummy handle — drill and attach — drill pilot holes and secure the backplate and handle with the included screws. Dummy handles install directly, no latch mechanism.
  8. Thumb lock only — install the strike plate — mark the latch location on the door frame, chisel a recess if needed, and screw the strike plate in.
  9. Mortice lock — cut the mortice pocket — use a chisel and drill to create a cavity in the door edge, following the provided measurements.
  10. Mortice lock — insert the lock body — fit it into the cavity and attach through the faceplate with screws.
  11. Mortice lock — install the handle — align the spindle through the lock, attach handles on both sides, and tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key.
  12. Mortice lock — install the cylinder (if applicable) — insert the key cylinder and secure with the cylinder screw from the door edge.
  13. Mortice lock — mount the strike plate — align with the latch mechanism and secure to the door frame.

Good to know

  • Double-check measurements before drilling.
  • Use a level for consistent alignment across multiple units.
  • If you're unfamiliar with mortice installation, consult a locksmith or professional.
  • Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly before final tightening.
  • Dummy handles are decorative or pull-only — they don't engage latches or locks.

On the brass

Warmththat builds with use

Solid brass starts with a soft brushed finish, subtle enough not to shout, warm enough to catch light differently through the day. With regular touch, the surface begins to develop its own patina — a quiet record of use rather than a flaw. Knob and pull bar are cut to the same proportions, so they read as a matched pair on any run of cabinetry.

Frequently asked

It's cut from solid brass with a softly brushed vintage-brass finish, chosen so the piece develops a warm, natural patina rather than staying static over time.

Oliana comes in a vintage brass finish, brushed to a soft sheen that pairs well with both contemporary and more classic cabinetry.

Yes — Oliana is sold as a coordinated set, with a rounded knob for smaller doors and a slender pull bar for drawers or taller panels.

Its balanced, timeless silhouette works equally well in contemporary interiors and more classic cabinetry, without leaning too far in either direction.

It suits kitchens, wardrobes, bathroom vanities, and built-in furniture — anywhere you want a considered brass detail across multiple cabinet types.

The pull bar tapers gently along its length with rounded ends, adding a classic architectural line to drawers and larger cabinet panels.

The knob is rounded with soft contours, sized to sit comfortably in the hand while echoing the same proportions as the matching pull bar.

Yes — both pieces share the same finish, brass tone, and rounded detailing, so they read as one cohesive hardware language across a room.

It does, in a good way. The brushed brass will gradually deepen and develop a natural patina with regular handling, adding character rather than wear.

Yes — beyond kitchens and wardrobes, Oliana works well on custom furniture pieces where a warm, coordinated brass detail is wanted.
