Installation Guide

No wiring here — just careful measuring, drilling, and mounting. Mortice locks take a bit more patience than a simple knob.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — surface installation on doors, drawers, or cabinetry; check your product's dimensions for placement and drilling points

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), drill and drill bits, Allen key
  • Tape measure, pencil, level
  • Chisel (for mortice lock installation)
  • Screws and anchors, safety goggles

Step by step

  1. Cabinet hardware — mark drilling points — use a tape measure and pencil; a template helps for uniformity across multiple pieces.
  2. Cabinet hardware — drill holes — use a bit matched to the screw diameter, keeping the drill straight.
  3. Cabinet hardware — mount — insert screws from inside the cabinet or drawer, secure the hardware on the front face, and tighten without overtightening.
  4. Cabinet hardware — align and inspect — confirm straightness and spacing before fully securing.
  5. Thumb lock or dummy handle — confirm orientation — determine left- or right-hand door swing and adjust as needed.
  6. Thumb lock or dummy handle — mark installation height — typically 36–38 inches from the floor to the handle center; align the mounting plate.
  7. Thumb lock or dummy handle — drill and attach — drill pilot holes and secure the backplate and handle with the included screws. Dummy handles install directly, no latch mechanism.
  8. Thumb lock only — install the strike plate — mark the latch location on the door frame, chisel a recess if needed, and screw the strike plate in.
  9. Mortice lock — cut the mortice pocket — use a chisel and drill to create a cavity in the door edge, following the provided measurements.
  10. Mortice lock — insert the lock body — fit it into the cavity and attach through the faceplate with screws.
  11. Mortice lock — install the handle — align the spindle through the lock, attach handles on both sides, and tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key.
  12. Mortice lock — install the cylinder (if applicable) — insert the key cylinder and secure with the cylinder screw from the door edge.
  13. Mortice lock — mount the strike plate — align with the latch mechanism and secure to the door frame.

Good to know

  • Double-check measurements before drilling.
  • Use a level for consistent alignment across multiple units.
  • If you're unfamiliar with mortice installation, consult a locksmith or professional.
  • Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly before final tightening.
  • Dummy handles are decorative or pull-only — they don't engage latches or locks.

Ridges — cut for texture, not just looks

The fluted lines running across Juzcar aren't a printed pattern — they're cut into the solid brass itself, giving a texture your fingers can actually feel. That same ribbing reflects light unevenly, which is part of why the vintage brass finish reads with more depth than a flat surface would.

Innovative engineering. Intelligent design.

Frequently Asked Questions

What material is the Juzcar Knob & Pull Bar made from?

Solid brass throughout, finished in a vintage brass tone that develops a soft, natural patina the longer it's used.

What design features define this cabinet hardware?

A fluted, ribbed silhouette carried across every piece in the family — a heritage-inspired detail that's cut into the brass rather than printed on.

Does this set include matching pieces?

Yes — a knob, a drawer pull, and four pull-bar lengths all share the same fluted detailing, so a full kitchen or wardrobe stays cohesive.

Where can this hardware be installed?

Kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, bathroom vanities, and furniture drawers — the range of sizes covers most standard cabinetry needs.

What interior styles does it complement?

Classic and transitional interiors especially, though the sculptural fluted form also works as a warm contrast in more modern spaces.

What makes the fluted detailing unique?

It's cut directly into the solid brass, giving genuine texture your fingers can feel rather than a surface pattern applied afterward.

Is solid brass cabinet hardware durable?

Yes, solid brass resists cracking and holds its structural integrity for decades, aging visually rather than wearing out functionally.

Does the design offer comfortable functionality?

Yes — the ribbed texture and ergonomic grip style give real traction, especially useful on the pull bars for daily opening and closing.

What aesthetic does this hardware create?

A refined, vintage-inspired look — sculptural fluted lines paired with a warm patina finish that reads as considered rather than generic.

Why choose a knob and pull bar set?

Buying knob and pull together keeps the detailing consistent across drawers and doors of different sizes, rather than mixing unrelated hardware.
