Installation Guide

No wiring here — just careful measuring, drilling, and mounting. Mortice locks take a bit more patience than a simple knob.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — surface installation on doors, drawers, or cabinetry; check your product's dimensions for placement and drilling points

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), drill and drill bits, Allen key
  • Tape measure, pencil, level
  • Chisel (for mortice lock installation)
  • Screws and anchors, safety goggles

Step by step

  1. Cabinet hardware — mark drilling points — use a tape measure and pencil; a template helps for uniformity across multiple pieces.
  2. Cabinet hardware — drill holes — use a bit matched to the screw diameter, keeping the drill straight.
  3. Cabinet hardware — mount — insert screws from inside the cabinet or drawer, secure the hardware on the front face, and tighten without overtightening.
  4. Cabinet hardware — align and inspect — confirm straightness and spacing before fully securing.
  5. Thumb lock or dummy handle — confirm orientation — determine left- or right-hand door swing and adjust as needed.
  6. Thumb lock or dummy handle — mark installation height — typically 36–38 inches from the floor to the handle center; align the mounting plate.
  7. Thumb lock or dummy handle — drill and attach — drill pilot holes and secure the backplate and handle with the included screws. Dummy handles install directly, no latch mechanism.
  8. Thumb lock only — install the strike plate — mark the latch location on the door frame, chisel a recess if needed, and screw the strike plate in.
  9. Mortice lock — cut the mortice pocket — use a chisel and drill to create a cavity in the door edge, following the provided measurements.
  10. Mortice lock — insert the lock body — fit it into the cavity and attach through the faceplate with screws.
  11. Mortice lock — install the handle — align the spindle through the lock, attach handles on both sides, and tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key.
  12. Mortice lock — install the cylinder (if applicable) — insert the key cylinder and secure with the cylinder screw from the door edge.
  13. Mortice lock — mount the strike plate — align with the latch mechanism and secure to the door frame.

Good to know

  • Double-check measurements before drilling.
  • Use a level for consistent alignment across multiple units.
  • If you're unfamiliar with mortice installation, consult a locksmith or professional.
  • Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly before final tightening.
  • Dummy handles are decorative or pull-only — they don't engage latches or locks.

Brass — left to change with use

The Jimera's curved face is left unlacquered enough to shift subtly with time, the areas touched most often taking on a softer sheen than the rest. It's a small detail that most hardware avoids, but here it's the point — a knob that looks a little different in five years than it does on day one. Three sizes keep the same rounded profile at different scales.

Innovative engineering. Intelligent design.

Frequently Asked Questions

What material is the Jimera Knob made from?

It's made from solid brass with a nickel finish, giving it a cool, reflective surface while keeping the weight and durability of solid metal hardware.

What design style does this cabinet knob feature?

Its gently curved, understated face suits both modern minimal kitchens and more classic cabinetry, since the shape reads as refined rather than decorative.

What type of finish does this knob have?

It has a nickel finish over solid brass, giving a cool-toned surface that pairs especially well with darker cabinetry or contrasting warm wood.

Is this knob suitable for modern interiors?

Yes — the simple curved silhouette and clean nickel finish work naturally in modern and transitional kitchens, wardrobes, and vanities.

Where can the Jimera Knob be installed?

It's suited to kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, bathroom vanities, dressers, sideboards, and built-in furniture — anywhere a standard single-hole knob is used.

Does the design offer comfortable use?

Yes — the smooth, rounded face is sized for an easy, secure grip whether you're pinching it with two fingers or gripping with the whole hand.

Why choose solid brass cabinet hardware?

Solid brass holds up to years of daily handling far better than lighter alloys, and it develops character over time rather than simply wearing out or fading.

Does the curved shape affect functionality?

No — the rounded profile keeps the knob comfortable to grip from any angle, and it doesn't add any snag points compared to a flatter, more angular design.

What makes this knob visually distinctive?

Its quiet, rounded simplicity is the point — rather than an ornate or sculptural form, it relies on the brass finish and gentle curve to carry the design.

Is this knob suitable for statement or luxury furniture?

Yes — solid brass construction and a considered curved profile make it a fitting detail for higher-end cabinetry where every piece of hardware is chosen deliberately.
