Installation Guide

No wiring here — just careful measuring, drilling, and mounting. Mortice locks take a bit more patience than a simple knob.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — surface installation on doors, drawers, or cabinetry; check your product's dimensions for placement and drilling points

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), drill and drill bits, Allen key
  • Tape measure, pencil, level
  • Chisel (for mortice lock installation)
  • Screws and anchors, safety goggles

Step by step

  1. Cabinet hardware — mark drilling points — use a tape measure and pencil; a template helps for uniformity across multiple pieces.
  2. Cabinet hardware — drill holes — use a bit matched to the screw diameter, keeping the drill straight.
  3. Cabinet hardware — mount — insert screws from inside the cabinet or drawer, secure the hardware on the front face, and tighten without overtightening.
  4. Cabinet hardware — align and inspect — confirm straightness and spacing before fully securing.
  5. Thumb lock or dummy handle — confirm orientation — determine left- or right-hand door swing and adjust as needed.
  6. Thumb lock or dummy handle — mark installation height — typically 36–38 inches from the floor to the handle center; align the mounting plate.
  7. Thumb lock or dummy handle — drill and attach — drill pilot holes and secure the backplate and handle with the included screws. Dummy handles install directly, no latch mechanism.
  8. Thumb lock only — install the strike plate — mark the latch location on the door frame, chisel a recess if needed, and screw the strike plate in.
  9. Mortice lock — cut the mortice pocket — use a chisel and drill to create a cavity in the door edge, following the provided measurements.
  10. Mortice lock — insert the lock body — fit it into the cavity and attach through the faceplate with screws.
  11. Mortice lock — install the handle — align the spindle through the lock, attach handles on both sides, and tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key.
  12. Mortice lock — install the cylinder (if applicable) — insert the key cylinder and secure with the cylinder screw from the door edge.
  13. Mortice lock — mount the strike plate — align with the latch mechanism and secure to the door frame.

Good to know

  • Double-check measurements before drilling.
  • Use a level for consistent alignment across multiple units.
  • If you're unfamiliar with mortice installation, consult a locksmith or professional.
  • Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly before final tightening.
  • Dummy handles are decorative or pull-only — they don't engage latches or locks.

Smooth above — textured where you grip

The Guejar's surface shifts deliberately along its length: polished and reflective near the top, then giving way to a detailed textured pattern lower down. That transition isn't just visual — it's where your fingers actually land when opening a drawer, so the grip works as well as it looks. Light catches the pattern at different angles as you move past it.

Innovative engineering. Intelligent design.

Frequently Asked Questions

What material is the Guejar Drawer Pull made from?

Solid brass throughout, giving it real weight in the hand. Depending on the finish you choose, it either develops a natural patina over time or holds a polished chrome look.

What design style does this drawer pull feature?

A vertical, elongated silhouette with subtle asymmetry, giving it a sculptural quality that reads as architectural detail rather than plain hardware on a cabinet front.

Is the surface smooth or textured?

Both — the upper section is softly polished, transitioning into a richly textured lower half. That shift adds tactile depth and marks exactly where your hand naturally grips.

What interiors does this drawer pull suit best?

It works across both modern and classic interiors, making it a flexible statement piece for kitchen cabinetry, wardrobes, bathroom vanities, and custom furniture drawers.

Where can this drawer pull be used?

Kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, bathroom vanities, and furniture drawers all suit the Guejar. It works installed individually or paired across double doors for symmetry.

Does the design offer visual depth?

Yes, the transition from polished to textured brass creates real depth and dimension, catching light differently across the length of the pull rather than reflecting it uniformly.

Is the pull comfortable to use daily?

Yes, the textured lower section is positioned exactly where your fingers naturally land, giving the pull a secure, comfortable grip for everyday opening and closing.

Does the brass finish look modern or traditional?

It bridges both — the clean vertical form reads modern, while the warm brass tone and developing patina give it a timeless, slightly traditional character as it ages.

Is this drawer pull suitable for statement furniture?

Yes, its sculptural vertical form and dual-texture surface make it a strong focal detail on its own, well suited to standout furniture pieces and feature cabinetry.

Will this pull maintain durability over time?

Yes, solid brass is a naturally durable metal that resists wear from daily handling — the brass and vintage brass finishes will patina gracefully rather than degrade.
