Installation Guide

No wiring here — just careful measuring, drilling, and mounting. Mortice locks take a bit more patience than a simple knob.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — surface installation on doors, drawers, or cabinetry; check your product's dimensions for placement and drilling points

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), drill and drill bits, Allen key
  • Tape measure, pencil, level
  • Chisel (for mortice lock installation)
  • Screws and anchors, safety goggles

Step by step

  1. Cabinet hardware — mark drilling points — use a tape measure and pencil; a template helps for uniformity across multiple pieces.
  2. Cabinet hardware — drill holes — use a bit matched to the screw diameter, keeping the drill straight.
  3. Cabinet hardware — mount — insert screws from inside the cabinet or drawer, secure the hardware on the front face, and tighten without overtightening.
  4. Cabinet hardware — align and inspect — confirm straightness and spacing before fully securing.
  5. Thumb lock or dummy handle — confirm orientation — determine left- or right-hand door swing and adjust as needed.
  6. Thumb lock or dummy handle — mark installation height — typically 36–38 inches from the floor to the handle center; align the mounting plate.
  7. Thumb lock or dummy handle — drill and attach — drill pilot holes and secure the backplate and handle with the included screws. Dummy handles install directly, no latch mechanism.
  8. Thumb lock only — install the strike plate — mark the latch location on the door frame, chisel a recess if needed, and screw the strike plate in.
  9. Mortice lock — cut the mortice pocket — use a chisel and drill to create a cavity in the door edge, following the provided measurements.
  10. Mortice lock — insert the lock body — fit it into the cavity and attach through the faceplate with screws.
  11. Mortice lock — install the handle — align the spindle through the lock, attach handles on both sides, and tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key.
  12. Mortice lock — install the cylinder (if applicable) — insert the key cylinder and secure with the cylinder screw from the door edge.
  13. Mortice lock — mount the strike plate — align with the latch mechanism and secure to the door frame.

Good to know

  • Double-check measurements before drilling.
  • Use a level for consistent alignment across multiple units.
  • If you're unfamiliar with mortice installation, consult a locksmith or professional.
  • Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly before final tightening.
  • Dummy handles are decorative or pull-only — they don't engage latches or locks.

Two textures — ridge and smooth centre

The outer ridge is cut in a fine, repeating pattern, giving fingers something to catch onto before they reach the smooth polished centre. That contrast is the whole design — no extra ornament needed. Solid brass carries both textures with the same reassuring weight.

Innovative engineering. Intelligent design.

Frequently Asked Questions

What material is the Gibraleon Cabinet Knob made of?

Solid brass throughout, giving it a reassuring weight in the hand that plated or hollow hardware can't match.

What design style does the Gibraleon Cabinet Knob feature?

A quiet, sculptural silhouette — a gently curved profile with a ridged rim, compact enough to suit both modern and classic cabinetry.

What makes the Gibraleon Cabinet Knob look unique on cabinets?

The contrast between its ridged outer rim and smooth polished centre gives it visual depth other single-texture knobs don't have.

Does the Gibraleon Cabinet Knob have any contrast detailing?

Yes, a fine ridged texture rings the outer edge, framing a smooth polished centre for a subtle two-texture effect.

What is the benefit of the ridged border design?

It adds real grip — fingers catch on the texture more easily than on an entirely smooth knob, especially with wet or full hands.

Are the edges of the Gibraleon Cabinet Knob smooth or sharp?

All edges are finished smooth and rounded, so the ridged texture reads as tactile detail rather than anything sharp or uncomfortable.

Is the Gibraleon Cabinet Knob comfortable for everyday use?

Yes, its compact rounded form and solid weight make it comfortable to grip dozens of times a day without feeling awkward.

Where can the Gibraleon Cabinet Knob be used?

Kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, wardrobes, and sideboards all suit its versatile, compact scale.

What interior styles does the Gibraleon Cabinet Knob suit best?

It pairs naturally with wood, painted cabinetry, or stone surfaces, working equally well in contemporary or more traditional kitchens.

Why will I love the Gibraleon Cabinet Knob?

It's a small, solid brass detail you touch daily — one that develops a natural patina and quietly upgrades even plain cabinetry.
