The Object

Stoneset at either end of the line

The Gausac runs a slender brass bar between two rounded stone ends, so the hand meets cool, veined stone before the warm metal. The stone's smooth surface and subtle veining add visual depth without competing with the brass. Available as a knob or pull bar, it works equally in a kitchen run or on a single wardrobe door.
Why you'll love it
  • Solid brass bar with natural stone end details
  • Subtle veining adds quiet visual depth
  • Smooth stone surface, comfortable to hold
  • Available as both cabinet knob and pull bar
  • Suits kitchens, wardrobes, vanities, and furniture
Details

No wiring here — just careful measuring, drilling, and mounting. Mortice locks take a bit more patience than a simple knob.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — surface installation on doors, drawers, or cabinetry; check your product's dimensions for placement and drilling points

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), drill and drill bits, Allen key
  • Tape measure, pencil, level
  • Chisel (for mortice lock installation)
  • Screws and anchors, safety goggles

Step by step

  1. Cabinet hardware — mark drilling points — use a tape measure and pencil; a template helps for uniformity across multiple pieces.
  2. Cabinet hardware — drill holes — use a bit matched to the screw diameter, keeping the drill straight.
  3. Cabinet hardware — mount — insert screws from inside the cabinet or drawer, secure the hardware on the front face, and tighten without overtightening.
  4. Cabinet hardware — align and inspect — confirm straightness and spacing before fully securing.
  5. Thumb lock or dummy handle — confirm orientation — determine left- or right-hand door swing and adjust as needed.
  6. Thumb lock or dummy handle — mark installation height — typically 36–38 inches from the floor to the handle center; align the mounting plate.
  7. Thumb lock or dummy handle — drill and attach — drill pilot holes and secure the backplate and handle with the included screws. Dummy handles install directly, no latch mechanism.
  8. Thumb lock only — install the strike plate — mark the latch location on the door frame, chisel a recess if needed, and screw the strike plate in.
  9. Mortice lock — cut the mortice pocket — use a chisel and drill to create a cavity in the door edge, following the provided measurements.
  10. Mortice lock — insert the lock body — fit it into the cavity and attach through the faceplate with screws.
  11. Mortice lock — install the handle — align the spindle through the lock, attach handles on both sides, and tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key.
  12. Mortice lock — install the cylinder (if applicable) — insert the key cylinder and secure with the cylinder screw from the door edge.
  13. Mortice lock — mount the strike plate — align with the latch mechanism and secure to the door frame.

Good to know

  • Double-check measurements before drilling.
  • Use a level for consistent alignment across multiple units.
  • If you're unfamiliar with mortice installation, consult a locksmith or professional.
  • Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly before final tightening.
  • Dummy handles are decorative or pull-only — they don't engage latches or locks.

On the stone

Veininga detail found only up close

Each stone end on the Gausac carries its own subtle veining, visible only when you're close enough to notice. Paired with the warm brass bar between them, the effect is restrained rather than showy — a material detail that rewards attention instead of demanding it.

Innovative engineering · intelligent design
Three things that set the Gausac apart from standard cabinet hardware.
Stone and brass

A pairing of warm metal and natural stone for a rich, material-driven finish.

Tactile ends

Frequently asked

It's a cabinet hardware piece pairing a slender brass bar with rounded stone ends, available as both a cabinet knob and a longer pull bar for drawers and doors.

Solid brass forms the bar, while natural stone makes up the rounded ends — a deliberate contrast between warm metal and cool, veined stone.

The brass comes in a warm polished tone, and the stone ends are in a white finish, chosen to let the natural veining stand out clearly.

A slender, architectural bar silhouette bookended by rounded stone details — restrained and modern, but warmed by the material contrast.

It suits kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, bathroom vanities, and custom furniture pieces — anywhere standard cabinet hardware is fitted.

Its blend of brass and stone suits modern interiors that still want a touch of natural material warmth, as well as quietly traditional kitchens.

The knob centres entirely on the stone detail, set on a brass base, giving it a rounded, tactile presence distinct from an all-metal knob.

Yes — the smooth stone ends and slender brass bar are shaped for an easy daily grip, without sharp edges or excessive bulk.

The stone is offered in white, paired consistently with the brass finish, so the set stays cohesive across knob and pull sizes.

Yes — while fully functional, the stone-and-brass pairing also reads as a considered decorative detail, adding rhythm to a run of cabinetry.
