Installation Guide

No wiring here — just careful measuring, drilling, and mounting. Mortice locks take a bit more patience than a simple knob.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — surface installation on doors, drawers, or cabinetry; check your product's dimensions for placement and drilling points

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), drill and drill bits, Allen key
  • Tape measure, pencil, level
  • Chisel (for mortice lock installation)
  • Screws and anchors, safety goggles

Step by step

  1. Cabinet hardware — mark drilling points — use a tape measure and pencil; a template helps for uniformity across multiple pieces.
  2. Cabinet hardware — drill holes — use a bit matched to the screw diameter, keeping the drill straight.
  3. Cabinet hardware — mount — insert screws from inside the cabinet or drawer, secure the hardware on the front face, and tighten without overtightening.
  4. Cabinet hardware — align and inspect — confirm straightness and spacing before fully securing.
  5. Thumb lock or dummy handle — confirm orientation — determine left- or right-hand door swing and adjust as needed.
  6. Thumb lock or dummy handle — mark installation height — typically 36–38 inches from the floor to the handle center; align the mounting plate.
  7. Thumb lock or dummy handle — drill and attach — drill pilot holes and secure the backplate and handle with the included screws. Dummy handles install directly, no latch mechanism.
  8. Thumb lock only — install the strike plate — mark the latch location on the door frame, chisel a recess if needed, and screw the strike plate in.
  9. Mortice lock — cut the mortice pocket — use a chisel and drill to create a cavity in the door edge, following the provided measurements.
  10. Mortice lock — insert the lock body — fit it into the cavity and attach through the faceplate with screws.
  11. Mortice lock — install the handle — align the spindle through the lock, attach handles on both sides, and tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key.
  12. Mortice lock — install the cylinder (if applicable) — insert the key cylinder and secure with the cylinder screw from the door edge.
  13. Mortice lock — mount the strike plate — align with the latch mechanism and secure to the door frame.

Good to know

  • Double-check measurements before drilling.
  • Use a level for consistent alignment across multiple units.
  • If you're unfamiliar with mortice installation, consult a locksmith or professional.
  • Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly before final tightening.
  • Dummy handles are decorative or pull-only — they don't engage latches or locks.

Brushed — to hold its own depth

A polished pull throws light straight back at you; a brushed one absorbs more of it. Garos uses the brushed treatment across its full length, so the brass reads with visible depth rather than a flat shine, and the surface only gets more interesting as it patinas.

Innovative engineering. Intelligent design.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Garos Cabinet Pull?

A solid brass pull bar with an elongated, softly rounded form, designed to bring a clean architectural line to cabinet and wardrobe doors.

What material is the Garos Cabinet Pull made from?

Solid brass with a brushed finish, chosen for its warmth against painted or wood cabinet surfaces and the way it patinas naturally over time.

What finish or color is available for this drawer pull?

A brushed vintage brass finish, which softens light reflection and lets the brass's depth show through rather than a high-shine surface.

What design style does this drawer pull feature?

A clean, architectural line — an elongated bar with softly rounded edges, calm rather than ornamental, suited to contemporary cabinetry.

Where can the Garos Cabinet Pull be installed?

Kitchen cabinets, wardrobe doors, bathroom vanities, and larger drawers — its longer form works especially well on tall cabinet fronts.

Is this drawer pull suitable for modern interiors?

Yes, its restrained linear form and brushed brass finish suit contemporary kitchens and wardrobes without feeling overly decorative.

Does the design focus more on form or function?

Both — the rounded profile is genuinely comfortable to grip, while the elongated silhouette adds a deliberate visual line across the cabinet.

What makes the Garos Cabinet Pull visually distinctive?

Its length relative to its width — the bar reads as a clean architectural line rather than a standard short handle, especially on tall doors.

Can this drawer pull be used across multiple furniture pieces?

Yes, with four available lengths it scales from smaller drawers to larger wardrobe and cabinet doors within the same design family.

Is the Garos Cabinet Pull designed to stand out or blend in?

It sits in between — noticeable enough to add refinement, restrained enough to let the cabinetry itself remain the main focus.
