Installation Guide

No wiring here — just careful measuring, drilling, and mounting. Mortice locks take a bit more patience than a simple knob.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — surface installation on doors, drawers, or cabinetry; check your product's dimensions for placement and drilling points

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), drill and drill bits, Allen key
  • Tape measure, pencil, level
  • Chisel (for mortice lock installation)
  • Screws and anchors, safety goggles

Step by step

  1. Cabinet hardware — mark drilling points — use a tape measure and pencil; a template helps for uniformity across multiple pieces.
  2. Cabinet hardware — drill holes — use a bit matched to the screw diameter, keeping the drill straight.
  3. Cabinet hardware — mount — insert screws from inside the cabinet or drawer, secure the hardware on the front face, and tighten without overtightening.
  4. Cabinet hardware — align and inspect — confirm straightness and spacing before fully securing.
  5. Thumb lock or dummy handle — confirm orientation — determine left- or right-hand door swing and adjust as needed.
  6. Thumb lock or dummy handle — mark installation height — typically 36–38 inches from the floor to the handle center; align the mounting plate.
  7. Thumb lock or dummy handle — drill and attach — drill pilot holes and secure the backplate and handle with the included screws. Dummy handles install directly, no latch mechanism.
  8. Thumb lock only — install the strike plate — mark the latch location on the door frame, chisel a recess if needed, and screw the strike plate in.
  9. Mortice lock — cut the mortice pocket — use a chisel and drill to create a cavity in the door edge, following the provided measurements.
  10. Mortice lock — insert the lock body — fit it into the cavity and attach through the faceplate with screws.
  11. Mortice lock — install the handle — align the spindle through the lock, attach handles on both sides, and tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key.
  12. Mortice lock — install the cylinder (if applicable) — insert the key cylinder and secure with the cylinder screw from the door edge.
  13. Mortice lock — mount the strike plate — align with the latch mechanism and secure to the door frame.

Good to know

  • Double-check measurements before drilling.
  • Use a level for consistent alignment across multiple units.
  • If you're unfamiliar with mortice installation, consult a locksmith or professional.
  • Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly before final tightening.
  • Dummy handles are decorative or pull-only — they don't engage latches or locks.

Stepped rings — around a single orb

The backplate isn't flat; it steps down in rings before reaching the smooth sphere at its centre, so the knob reads as layered rather than a single flat disc. That small architecture is what gives it presence at 3.2 cm across — a detail that still registers from a distance. Solid brass carries the weight through to the grip itself.

Innovative engineering. Intelligent design.

Frequently Asked Questions

What materials are used in the Espejo Knob?

The Espejo is built from solid brass, finished across seven colour options so it can match warm metals or stand out as a contrast detail on any cabinet front.

What design style does this knob suit best?

Its stepped backplate and rounded orb work equally well in modern minimal kitchens and more classic cabinetry, since the layered form reads as detail rather than ornament.

What makes the Espejo Knob unique in design?

The finely stepped, ringed backplate sets it apart from a flat-disc knob — it adds a small architectural rhythm around the grip that catches light differently depending on the angle.

Is the Espejo Knob comfortable to use daily?

Yes — the smooth orb is sized for an easy pinch or full-hand grip, and the solid brass construction stays cool and steady under regular daily use.

Where can this cabinet knob be installed?

It suits kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, bathroom vanities, and built-in furniture — anywhere you'd use a standard single-hole cabinet knob.

Does the design affect durability?

No — the stepped rings are formed into the same solid brass piece as the grip, so the layered look doesn't add any weak points or reduce the knob's everyday durability.

Will this knob work with minimalist cabinetry?

Yes — at 3.2 cm across, it stays compact and quiet enough to suit flat-front minimalist cabinetry, while still offering a bit of dimensional detail up close.

Does the layered backplate serve a functional purpose?

The stepped rings mainly shape the knob's visual depth, though they also give slightly more surface definition for the fingers to register the grip's centre by feel.

Is this knob more decorative or functional?

It's both — solid brass and a comfortable orb grip make it fully functional as everyday cabinet hardware, while the stepped backplate adds a genuine design detail.

Can this knob be paired with other modern hardware?

Yes — its seven finishes make it easy to coordinate with pulls, hinges, or faucets elsewhere in the kitchen or bath, whether matching or intentionally contrasting.
