Installation Guide

No wiring here — just careful measuring, drilling, and mounting. Mortice locks take a bit more patience than a simple knob.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — surface installation on doors, drawers, or cabinetry; check your product's dimensions for placement and drilling points

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), drill and drill bits, Allen key
  • Tape measure, pencil, level
  • Chisel (for mortice lock installation)
  • Screws and anchors, safety goggles

Step by step

  1. Cabinet hardware — mark drilling points — use a tape measure and pencil; a template helps for uniformity across multiple pieces.
  2. Cabinet hardware — drill holes — use a bit matched to the screw diameter, keeping the drill straight.
  3. Cabinet hardware — mount — insert screws from inside the cabinet or drawer, secure the hardware on the front face, and tighten without overtightening.
  4. Cabinet hardware — align and inspect — confirm straightness and spacing before fully securing.
  5. Thumb lock or dummy handle — confirm orientation — determine left- or right-hand door swing and adjust as needed.
  6. Thumb lock or dummy handle — mark installation height — typically 36–38 inches from the floor to the handle center; align the mounting plate.
  7. Thumb lock or dummy handle — drill and attach — drill pilot holes and secure the backplate and handle with the included screws. Dummy handles install directly, no latch mechanism.
  8. Thumb lock only — install the strike plate — mark the latch location on the door frame, chisel a recess if needed, and screw the strike plate in.
  9. Mortice lock — cut the mortice pocket — use a chisel and drill to create a cavity in the door edge, following the provided measurements.
  10. Mortice lock — insert the lock body — fit it into the cavity and attach through the faceplate with screws.
  11. Mortice lock — install the handle — align the spindle through the lock, attach handles on both sides, and tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key.
  12. Mortice lock — install the cylinder (if applicable) — insert the key cylinder and secure with the cylinder screw from the door edge.
  13. Mortice lock — mount the strike plate — align with the latch mechanism and secure to the door frame.

Good to know

  • Double-check measurements before drilling.
  • Use a level for consistent alignment across multiple units.
  • If you're unfamiliar with mortice installation, consult a locksmith or professional.
  • Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly before final tightening.
  • Dummy handles are decorative or pull-only — they don't engage latches or locks.

Facets — framing a smooth center

Diezma isn't a plain dome or a flat disc — its outer edge is cut into facets, while the center stays smooth and rounded. That contrast between crisp lines and soft curves is what gives it presence up close, even at a scale this small.

Innovative engineering. Intelligent design.

Frequently Asked Questions

What material is the knob made from?

Solid brass throughout, chosen for its weight and the way it develops a warm, natural patina with regular handling over time.

What design style does this knob follow?

A geometric, architectural style — a faceted outer edge frames a smooth circular center, blending crisp lines with soft curves.

Where can this knob be installed?

Kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, wardrobes, and custom furniture — anywhere a drawer or door needs a compact, considered pull.

What finishes are available for this knob?

Vintage brass and standard brass, both of which develop character over years of use rather than staying static.

Does the knob have a textured or smooth surface?

Both — the outer rim is faceted for texture and grip, while the center stays smooth, giving your fingers two distinct surfaces to hold.

Is this knob suitable for modern interiors?

Yes — its clean geometric form reads as contemporary, though the warm brass finish also works comfortably in more classic settings.

Does the knob provide a comfortable grip?

Yes, the ergonomic profile and faceted edge give fingers real purchase, so it opens smoothly even with wet or full hands.

Is the knob visually heavy or minimal?

Minimal — its compact scale means it adds a refined detail without dominating the cabinet front or drawing too much attention.

Can this knob be used on furniture other than cabinets?

Yes — its versatile scale suits dressers, sideboards, and other furniture pieces beyond kitchen and bathroom cabinetry.

What makes the Diezma Knob stand out in design?

The contrast between its faceted rim and smooth center gives it a sculptural quality that a plain round or square knob doesn't have.
