The Object

A wavecarved along the grain

The Churriana runs a shallow, undulating wave along its length, carved so the shape moves gently rather than sitting flat. Solid wood keeps the natural grain visible through the curve, and the profile gives the fingers a comfortable place to settle when opening a drawer. Warm enough for a child's room, restrained enough for a considered kitchen run.
Why you'll love it
  • Carved wave silhouette — subtle, not decorative overload
  • Solid wood construction with warm, natural grain
  • Smooth, tactile surface comfortable in the hand
  • Suits both painted and natural cabinetry
  • Two finishes: natural oak, walnut brown
Details

No wiring here — just careful measuring, drilling, and mounting. Mortice locks take a bit more patience than a simple knob.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — surface installation on doors, drawers, or cabinetry; check your product's dimensions for placement and drilling points

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), drill and drill bits, Allen key
  • Tape measure, pencil, level
  • Chisel (for mortice lock installation)
  • Screws and anchors, safety goggles

Step by step

  1. Cabinet hardware — mark drilling points — use a tape measure and pencil; a template helps for uniformity across multiple pieces.
  2. Cabinet hardware — drill holes — use a bit matched to the screw diameter, keeping the drill straight.
  3. Cabinet hardware — mount — insert screws from inside the cabinet or drawer, secure the hardware on the front face, and tighten without overtightening.
  4. Cabinet hardware — align and inspect — confirm straightness and spacing before fully securing.
  5. Thumb lock or dummy handle — confirm orientation — determine left- or right-hand door swing and adjust as needed.
  6. Thumb lock or dummy handle — mark installation height — typically 36–38 inches from the floor to the handle center; align the mounting plate.
  7. Thumb lock or dummy handle — drill and attach — drill pilot holes and secure the backplate and handle with the included screws. Dummy handles install directly, no latch mechanism.
  8. Thumb lock only — install the strike plate — mark the latch location on the door frame, chisel a recess if needed, and screw the strike plate in.
  9. Mortice lock — cut the mortice pocket — use a chisel and drill to create a cavity in the door edge, following the provided measurements.
  10. Mortice lock — insert the lock body — fit it into the cavity and attach through the faceplate with screws.
  11. Mortice lock — install the handle — align the spindle through the lock, attach handles on both sides, and tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key.
  12. Mortice lock — install the cylinder (if applicable) — insert the key cylinder and secure with the cylinder screw from the door edge.
  13. Mortice lock — mount the strike plate — align with the latch mechanism and secure to the door frame.

Good to know

  • Double-check measurements before drilling.
  • Use a level for consistent alignment across multiple units.
  • If you're unfamiliar with mortice installation, consult a locksmith or professional.
  • Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly before final tightening.
  • Dummy handles are decorative or pull-only — they don't engage latches or locks.

On the form

Movementcarved into a straight line

The Churriana's wave profile is carved shallow enough to stay functional as a grip, but deep enough to read as a genuine shape rather than a flat bar. Solid wood carries the curve cleanly, and the grain running through it adds its own quiet variation piece to piece. It's a small detail that softens a drawer front without adding visual noise.

Innovative engineering · intelligent design
Three things that set the Churriana apart from a standard wood pull.
Wave silhouette

A gentle undulating carve adds subtle movement to a straight drawer front.

Natural grain

Solid wood keeps its texture and pattern visible through the shaped curve.

Comfortable grip

The carved profile gives the fingers a natural place to hold and pull.
