Installation Guide

No wiring here — just careful measuring, drilling, and mounting. Mortice locks take a bit more patience than a simple knob.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — surface installation on doors, drawers, or cabinetry; check your product's dimensions for placement and drilling points

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), drill and drill bits, Allen key
  • Tape measure, pencil, level
  • Chisel (for mortice lock installation)
  • Screws and anchors, safety goggles

Step by step

  1. Cabinet hardware — mark drilling points — use a tape measure and pencil; a template helps for uniformity across multiple pieces.
  2. Cabinet hardware — drill holes — use a bit matched to the screw diameter, keeping the drill straight.
  3. Cabinet hardware — mount — insert screws from inside the cabinet or drawer, secure the hardware on the front face, and tighten without overtightening.
  4. Cabinet hardware — align and inspect — confirm straightness and spacing before fully securing.
  5. Thumb lock or dummy handle — confirm orientation — determine left- or right-hand door swing and adjust as needed.
  6. Thumb lock or dummy handle — mark installation height — typically 36–38 inches from the floor to the handle center; align the mounting plate.
  7. Thumb lock or dummy handle — drill and attach — drill pilot holes and secure the backplate and handle with the included screws. Dummy handles install directly, no latch mechanism.
  8. Thumb lock only — install the strike plate — mark the latch location on the door frame, chisel a recess if needed, and screw the strike plate in.
  9. Mortice lock — cut the mortice pocket — use a chisel and drill to create a cavity in the door edge, following the provided measurements.
  10. Mortice lock — insert the lock body — fit it into the cavity and attach through the faceplate with screws.
  11. Mortice lock — install the handle — align the spindle through the lock, attach handles on both sides, and tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key.
  12. Mortice lock — install the cylinder (if applicable) — insert the key cylinder and secure with the cylinder screw from the door edge.
  13. Mortice lock — mount the strike plate — align with the latch mechanism and secure to the door frame.

Good to know

  • Double-check measurements before drilling.
  • Use a level for consistent alignment across multiple units.
  • If you're unfamiliar with mortice installation, consult a locksmith or professional.
  • Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly before final tightening.
  • Dummy handles are decorative or pull-only — they don't engage latches or locks.

Two textures — one shared language

The Cazalla's knob picks up a beaded rim, small raised dots that ring the edge like stitching. Its pull bar takes a different route — soft fluted grooves running the length of the curve. Different textures, same solid brass, and enough of a family resemblance that the two read as a matched set rather than two separate pieces of hardware.

Innovative engineering. Intelligent design.

Both pieces are solid brass, developing the same warm patina over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What material is the Cazalla Knob & Pull Bar made of?

Solid brass throughout, finished to develop a natural patina over time — the more it's handled, the warmer and richer the tone becomes.

What finishes are available for this product?

Vintage brass and brass — both carry a warm base tone, with the vintage option arriving with a softer, already-aged character.

Does the set include both a knob and a pull bar?

Yes — a beaded round knob paired with a fluted pull bar, sold together as a coordinated set built for consistent cabinetry hardware.

What design style does this hardware suit best?

Its beaded and fluted detailing suits both traditional and contemporary cabinetry, adding just enough classic texture without feeling overly ornate.

What distinguishes the knob design?

A beaded edge that rings the outside of the knob, small raised dots that catch light and add fine tactile texture underhand.

How is the pull bar designed?

A gently curved form with soft fluted grooves running its length, giving the bar a comfortable grip and a subtle decorative rhythm.

Where can the Cazalla Knob & Pull Bar be installed?

Kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, bathroom vanities, and built-in furniture — anywhere a coordinated set of classic hardware suits the room.

Is this hardware decorative or minimal in appearance?

It sits between the two — enough beaded and fluted detail to feel genuinely classic, restrained enough to stay versatile across styles.

Does the brass finish have a warm tone?

Yes — both finishes carry a warm, grounded brass tone that deepens naturally with handling, rather than staying flat or cold.

Is this product suitable for coordinated cabinetry hardware?

Yes — the beaded knob and fluted pull share a design language built specifically for mixing sizes across one room's cabinetry.
