Installation Guide

No wiring here — just careful measuring, drilling, and mounting. Mortice locks take a bit more patience than a simple knob.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — surface installation on doors, drawers, or cabinetry; check your product's dimensions for placement and drilling points

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), drill and drill bits, Allen key
  • Tape measure, pencil, level
  • Chisel (for mortice lock installation)
  • Screws and anchors, safety goggles

Step by step

  1. Cabinet hardware — mark drilling points — use a tape measure and pencil; a template helps for uniformity across multiple pieces.
  2. Cabinet hardware — drill holes — use a bit matched to the screw diameter, keeping the drill straight.
  3. Cabinet hardware — mount — insert screws from inside the cabinet or drawer, secure the hardware on the front face, and tighten without overtightening.
  4. Cabinet hardware — align and inspect — confirm straightness and spacing before fully securing.
  5. Thumb lock or dummy handle — confirm orientation — determine left- or right-hand door swing and adjust as needed.
  6. Thumb lock or dummy handle — mark installation height — typically 36–38 inches from the floor to the handle center; align the mounting plate.
  7. Thumb lock or dummy handle — drill and attach — drill pilot holes and secure the backplate and handle with the included screws. Dummy handles install directly, no latch mechanism.
  8. Thumb lock only — install the strike plate — mark the latch location on the door frame, chisel a recess if needed, and screw the strike plate in.
  9. Mortice lock — cut the mortice pocket — use a chisel and drill to create a cavity in the door edge, following the provided measurements.
  10. Mortice lock — insert the lock body — fit it into the cavity and attach through the faceplate with screws.
  11. Mortice lock — install the handle — align the spindle through the lock, attach handles on both sides, and tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key.
  12. Mortice lock — install the cylinder (if applicable) — insert the key cylinder and secure with the cylinder screw from the door edge.
  13. Mortice lock — mount the strike plate — align with the latch mechanism and secure to the door frame.

Good to know

  • Double-check measurements before drilling.
  • Use a level for consistent alignment across multiple units.
  • If you're unfamiliar with mortice installation, consult a locksmith or professional.
  • Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly before final tightening.
  • Dummy handles are decorative or pull-only — they don't engage latches or locks.

Tapered — a line that isn't quite straight

The Cabrilla's profile narrows unevenly from one end to the other, deliberately off-centre rather than a symmetrical taper. That uneven line is what gives the bar its sense of quiet movement, even sitting still on a drawer front. Solid brass takes the asymmetric shape without losing strength, and develops a soft patina wherever it's handled most.

Innovative engineering. Intelligent design.

Subtle asymmetry

An uneven taper gives the bar a quiet sense of motion other pulls don't have.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Cabrilla Pull Bar?

A solid-brass cabinet pull with a gently tapered, asymmetric silhouette — a small design detail that adds a quiet sense of movement to a drawer front.

What material is it made from?

Solid brass, finished in a vintage tone that deepens naturally over time as the bar picks up a soft patina with regular use.

What design style does it suit?

Both modern and classic interiors — the subtle taper reads as considered and refined rather than overtly modern or overly traditional.

What makes the design unique?

Its uneven taper — most pull bars are perfectly symmetrical, but the Cabrilla's deliberately off-centre line gives it a small, quiet sense of motion.

Where can I install this pull bar?

Kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, wardrobes, and custom furniture drawers all suit it, wherever a slightly sculptural detail fits the design.

Which rooms is it best for?

Kitchens and bathrooms especially benefit from its durable brass build, though it works comfortably anywhere cabinet or drawer hardware is needed.

Can it be used in commercial interiors?

Yes — solid brass construction holds up well to the higher frequency of use that commercial cabinetry and fixtures typically see.

Does it feel comfortable to use daily?

Yes — despite the asymmetric shape, the grip stays smooth and balanced in the hand, with no awkward edges to catch on.

Will it make cabinetry look more modern?

It can — the tapered, off-kilter form adds a genuinely contemporary detail to a drawer front without feeling severe or overly minimal.

What finish does the brass add to the space?

A warm vintage tone that pairs well with both light and dark cabinetry, and only grows richer and more characterful the longer it's used.
