The Object

Curved and smoothkept minimal

The Bossost keeps its profile low and rounded, a curved edge doing all the work rather than added ornament. The smooth surface feels warm under the fingers, with a gently raised lip that gives an easy, natural grip. It's the kind of detail meant to disappear into the cabinetry, present but never loud.
Why you'll love it
  • Soft curved silhouette, clean and minimal
  • Smooth surface feels warm and tactile
  • Raised edge gives a comfortable, natural grip
  • Fits cabinets, drawers, and wardrobes alike
  • Three finishes for a cohesive, considered look
Details

No wiring here — just careful measuring, drilling, and mounting. Mortice locks take a bit more patience than a simple knob.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — surface installation on doors, drawers, or cabinetry; check your product's dimensions for placement and drilling points

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), drill and drill bits, Allen key
  • Tape measure, pencil, level
  • Chisel (for mortice lock installation)
  • Screws and anchors, safety goggles

Step by step

  1. Cabinet hardware — mark drilling points — use a tape measure and pencil; a template helps for uniformity across multiple pieces.
  2. Cabinet hardware — drill holes — use a bit matched to the screw diameter, keeping the drill straight.
  3. Cabinet hardware — mount — insert screws from inside the cabinet or drawer, secure the hardware on the front face, and tighten without overtightening.
  4. Cabinet hardware — align and inspect — confirm straightness and spacing before fully securing.
  5. Thumb lock or dummy handle — confirm orientation — determine left- or right-hand door swing and adjust as needed.
  6. Thumb lock or dummy handle — mark installation height — typically 36–38 inches from the floor to the handle center; align the mounting plate.
  7. Thumb lock or dummy handle — drill and attach — drill pilot holes and secure the backplate and handle with the included screws. Dummy handles install directly, no latch mechanism.
  8. Thumb lock only — install the strike plate — mark the latch location on the door frame, chisel a recess if needed, and screw the strike plate in.
  9. Mortice lock — cut the mortice pocket — use a chisel and drill to create a cavity in the door edge, following the provided measurements.
  10. Mortice lock — insert the lock body — fit it into the cavity and attach through the faceplate with screws.
  11. Mortice lock — install the handle — align the spindle through the lock, attach handles on both sides, and tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key.
  12. Mortice lock — install the cylinder (if applicable) — insert the key cylinder and secure with the cylinder screw from the door edge.
  13. Mortice lock — mount the strike plate — align with the latch mechanism and secure to the door frame.

Good to know

  • Double-check measurements before drilling.
  • Use a level for consistent alignment across multiple units.
  • If you're unfamiliar with mortice installation, consult a locksmith or professional.
  • Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly before final tightening.
  • Dummy handles are decorative or pull-only — they don't engage latches or locks.

On the detail

A raised edgegrip without ornament

The Bossost's grip comes from a subtle raised lip along the curve rather than any added texture or embellishment. That restraint is deliberate — the pull is meant to read as a quiet line on the drawer front, not a focal point. Available across three lengths, it scales from a narrow drawer to a wide wardrobe door without changing character.

Innovative engineering · intelligent design

Minimal profile

A soft curve keeps the silhouette clean, letting it recede into the cabinetry.

Natural grip
