The Object

Two shapesone quiet statement

The Bansin Pendant Light pairs a cone and a rectangle of concrete and metal, each holding a smoky glass orb that softens the integrated LED into a warm ambient glow. The contrast between the heavy, textured concrete and the smooth dark glass is the point — a pendant that reads as industrial in material but considered in form. Grey throughout, sloped-ceiling compatible, adjustable drop to 1.2 m.
Why you'll love it
  • Concrete and metal — industrial materials handled with restraint
  • Smoky glass orbs diffuse the integrated LED into a warm ambient glow
  • Two geometric forms: cone and rectangle in a single composition
  • Adjustable drop to 1.2 m · sloped ceiling compatible
  • Integrated LED, 8W · 90–260V · hardwired
Details

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

Good to know

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

On the material

Concretetexture that holds its ground under the light

Concrete doesn't reflect light — it absorbs it. That quality is what makes the Bansin work: the pendant body recedes into the ceiling while the smoky glass orbs hold the glow. The contrast between the coarse grey surface and the smooth dark glass creates a tension in the composition that plain metal pendants don't achieve. Each concrete body carries its own slight variation in texture from the pouring process.

Innovative engineering · intelligent design
Three things that make the Bansin work as more than a statement piece.
Smoky diffusion

Tinted glass orbs warm the integrated LED — ambient light without exposed glare.

Concrete body

Real concrete texture — each pendant carries subtle variation from the casting process.

Geometric composition

Cone and rectangle in one pendant — a sculptural form that rewards a close look.

Frequently asked

The body is concrete and metal — the concrete for its texture and weight, the metal for structural integrity. The shades are smoky glass, chosen to warm and diffuse the integrated LED rather than show it clearly.

It comes in one finish: grey. The concrete body and metal frame are both grey-toned, with the smoky glass orbs adding a darker accent. The palette is deliberately restrained — it works in monochromatic and earth-toned spaces.

None — the Bansin uses an integrated LED. There's no bulb to source, fit, or replace. The LED is built into the fixture and rated for 50,000+ hours of use.

No — the integrated LED is not dimmable. The Bansin is designed to operate at a fixed output of 8W (880 lm). If dimmability is important to your space, we'd suggest looking at one of our pendant options with a replaceable bulb base.

The Bansin has no replaceable bulb — the LED is integrated into the fixture. This keeps the form clean and maintenance-free; the trade-off is that the light output and colour temperature are fixed.

90–260V — compatible with standard household wiring worldwide. No step-down transformer or adapter is needed for typical residential installations.

Yes — the cord adjusts to a maximum drop of 1.2 m from the ceiling. The excess cord is managed at the canopy. If you need a specific drop length, let us know at order and we'll configure it before shipping.

No — the Bansin is not IP-rated for damp or humid environments. It's designed for indoor dry spaces: dining rooms, living rooms, entryways, and bedrooms. A bathroom-rated fixture is needed for wet zones.

Wipe the concrete body with a dry soft brush or cloth to remove dust — avoid water on the concrete surface. For the glass orbs, a lightly damp lint-free cloth will clean without scratching. No chemical cleaners on either surface.

Modern, minimalist, and industrial-style spaces respond best to it. The concrete and smoky glass work well with exposed brick, polished concrete floors, and timber surfaces — spaces where material honesty is part of the design language.
