The Object

Patternedpressed from solid brass

The Vissenbjerg Knob carries a sunburst lattice cut into the face of solid brass — a geometric pattern that catches light across the ridges rather than sitting flat. The polished finish deepens the relief, making the detail legible from across the room. Two weights, a single diameter, and a profile that works in modern and classic settings without adjustment.

Details

Includes the solid-brass plate, toggle mechanism, and mounting hardware. A straightforward swap for an existing switch — power off, match the wires, screw the plate back on.

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power at your breaker or fuse box.
  2. Remove the old cover plate — unscrew it and set it aside.
  3. Take out the old switch — unscrew it from the box and ease it out to reach the wiring.
  4. Disconnect the wires — loosen the screws, or if back-inserted, cut and strip the ends.
  5. Wire the new toggle — live to the brass/black screw, neutral to silver (if your switch uses one), ground to the green screw. Tighten each.
  6. Secure the switch — tuck the wires back, align the toggle, fasten with the included screws.
  7. Fit the brass plate over the switch and screw it in.
  8. Power back on at the panel.
  9. Test — toggle up and down; the light or device should switch cleanly.

On the detail

Latticepressed in, not printed on

The Vissenbjerg's sunburst pattern is formed during pressing — not applied as a surface texture. The result is a design that's present in the material itself, catching light differently as the door moves. The polished brass finish amplifies the contrast between the raised ribs and the inset background.

Innovative engineering · intelligent design
Three details that make the Vissenbjerg worth a close look.
Pressed relief

The sunburst lattice is formed in the brass — not engraved or plated on top.

Polished finish

High polish deepens the geometric pattern and gives the Vissenbjerg a considered, finished look.

Frequently asked

Solid brass — the sunburst lattice pattern is pressed directly into the brass body during manufacture, not engraved or applied as a coating.

A sunburst-inspired geometric lattice pressed into the face of the knob. The polished finish amplifies the relief, making the pattern catch light as the door or drawer moves.

One diameter — 3.2 cm — in two weights: 87g and 133g. The heavier option is noticeable in the hand; both work on standard cabinet and drawer fronts.

Kitchen cabinets, bedroom drawers, wardrobes, bathroom vanities, and decorative doors. The geometric pattern and polished finish suit both casual and formal furniture.

Yes — the sunburst lattice bridges both registers. It's detailed enough for a classic interior and restrained enough for a contemporary one. The polished brass finish works across both.

Yes — it mounts with a single screw through the door or drawer face. The hole spacing is 3.2 cm. Hardware is included, and no specialist tools are needed for a standard fit.

Yes — the Vissenbjerg is finished in high-polish brass. The polish deepens the contrast between the raised ribs and recessed background in the lattice pattern.

Yes — solid brass is highly durable and resists the kind of daily mechanical wear that high-traffic doors and drawers generate. The polished finish may develop a gentle patina over time.

Yes — a standard drill and the included hardware are all you need for most installations. Measure the hole position before drilling, and use a backing plate if the door is thin.

Wipe with a soft dry cloth regularly. For a more thorough clean, use mild soap and water, rinse and dry immediately. Avoid abrasive pads or acidic cleaners that can dull the polished finish.
