The spiral form is aluminium with a silicone cover; the base is iron. Both are rust-resistant and built to hold their finish. The non-slip pad underneath the base keeps the lamp stable on any smooth surface.
The integrated LED is rated to 50,000 hours — roughly 17 years at eight hours per day. The LED is sealed into the design, so there's nothing to replace during its operating life.
The Valance operates on 90–260VAC at 16–20W depending on the size. It draws very little power for the amount of light it produces — energy-efficient by design.

Yes. The iron base is flat and the non-slip pad holds it securely on wood, glass, stone, and laminate surfaces. Avoid surfaces that could be marked by the pad material if finish is a concern.
