Litthrough woven fabric

The Timber holds a micro-woven fabric diffuser in a circular steel frame, with single LEDs scattered across the fabric's surface so the light appears distributed across the whole disc rather than sourced from a point. The steel structure rotates 360° on the Y axis and 350° on the X axis, meaning you can tilt and spin the fixture to change the light's angle entirely. Matte black; small, medium, or large; hardwired or wall-bracketed.
Why you'll love it
  • Micro-woven fabric diffuser scatters light across the full disc surface
  • 360° Y-axis and 350° X-axis rotation — aim the light any direction
  • Steel frame — temperature-resistant and built to last
  • 50,000-hour integrated LEDs · three sizes (35–60 cm)
  • Mounts on ceiling or wall · cord adjusts to 1.5 m
Details

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

Good to know

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

How it's made

Fabric diffuserlight scattered, not projected

The Timber's diffuser is woven from a micro-fibre material with exceptional light-diffracting qualities — LEDs embedded across its surface mean the glow distributes evenly rather than radiating from a single point. The steel disc frame keeps the assembly rigid through full rotation. Temperature and fade resistance means the fabric holds its appearance over years of use.

Innovative engineering · intelligent design
Full rotation

360° Y-axis and 350° X-axis movement — tilt and aim the disc to direct the light.

Scattered glow

LEDs embedded across the fabric surface produce a soft, distributed glow across the full disc.

Ceiling or wall

Hang from the ceiling or bracket-mount to the wall — the Timber supports both configurations.

Frequently asked

The Timber uses a stainless steel frame and a micro-woven fabric diffuser panel. The steel gives the fixture its structural rigidity; the fabric is chosen for its light-diffracting properties and resistance to temperature and fading.

Single LEDs are distributed across the surface of the woven fabric diffuser, so the light appears spread across the whole disc rather than projecting from one point. The effect is softer and more ambient than a conventional shade.

The Timber's disc form and fabric material are contemporary rather than period-specific, but its understated black finish sits neutrally in most interiors. It mounts to a standard junction box like any conventional fixture.

The integrated LEDs are rated for 50,000+ hours — well over a decade of daily use at typical domestic hours.

The Timber runs on 90–260V, covering US, UK, and EU supply voltages without any adaptor.

The Timber is hardwired into a standard ceiling junction box or wall bracket. We recommend installation by a certified electrician — the included hardware covers both ceiling and wall configurations.

Yes — the Timber includes the canopy, mounting hardware, and a junction box for both ceiling and wall installation. The suspension cord is adjustable to 1.5 m.

Yes. The Timber includes brackets for wall mounting as well as the standard ceiling canopy — so you can choose the installation that suits your space.

Yes — the fabric diffuser is specified to be temperature and fade resistant, meaning the material holds its appearance over years of continuous use.

The Timber's disc silhouette and distributed fabric glow create a focal point that reads as considered rather than decorative — it adds light and geometry at the same time. Pairs naturally with other black metal fixtures.
