The Object

Radial groovesa knob you look at twice

The Struer is a solid brass knob with a sunburst pattern radiating from the base — grooves cut outward to the rim while the top is fluted for the finger to settle on. Small at D3 x H2.2 cm, but the detail reads clearly on a cabinet or drawer front. Vintage brass finish that ages into warmth over time. It suits both classic joinery and contemporary cabinetry that wants a tactile, handmade feel.
Why you'll love it
  • Radial sunburst base — grooves that catch light and draw the eye
  • Fluted top for finger grip — tactile, not just decorative
  • Solid brass — weighty, durable, develops a patina with use
  • Compact form: D3 x H2.2 cm — works on small or large drawers
  • Vintage brass finish — suits classic and contemporary cabinetry
Details

Includes the solid-brass plate, toggle mechanism, and mounting hardware. A straightforward swap for an existing switch — power off, match the wires, screw the plate back on.

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power at your breaker or fuse box.
  2. Remove the old cover plate — unscrew it and set it aside.
  3. Take out the old switch — unscrew it from the box and ease it out to reach the wiring.
  4. Disconnect the wires — loosen the screws, or if back-inserted, cut and strip the ends.
  5. Wire the new toggle — live to the brass/black screw, neutral to silver (if your switch uses one), ground to the green screw. Tighten each.
  6. Secure the switch — tuck the wires back, align the toggle, fasten with the included screws.
  7. Fit the brass plate over the switch and screw it in.
  8. Power back on at the panel.
  9. Test — toggle up and down; the light or device should switch cleanly.

The making

Grooved and flutedby hand from solid brass

The Struer's sunburst pattern is machined into the brass base — radiating grooves that shift in tone as the light moves across them. The fluted top is worked to the same precision, giving a knob that's visually interesting from every angle. At 24 grams, it's light in the hand but feels solid on the finger; the brass resists wear and deepens with use.

Innovative engineering · intelligent design
Three things that make the Struer different from a standard drawer knob.
Sunburst form

Radiating grooves catch the light at every angle — a knob with genuine detail.

Fluted grip

The textured top gives the finger somewhere deliberate to land.

Solid brass

24 grams of solid brass — ages into a warm patina rather than wearing thin.

Frequently asked

The Struer Knob is made from solid brass — machined from a single piece and finished in a vintage brass tone. No hollow body, no plating over a cheaper metal.

The Struer Knob has a vintage brass finish — warm, slightly aged-looking, and designed to develop a natural patina over years of daily use.

Yes — the Struer works on kitchen cabinets, wardrobe doors, sideboards, bathroom vanities, and any drawer front. Its compact size suits both small accent pieces and full cabinet runs.

The Struer Knob mounts with a machine screw through the cabinet panel — standard single-hole fixing. Drill the hole to fit, insert the screw from inside the door or drawer, and tighten.

The Struer Knob comes in one size: D3 x H2.2 cm. This compact format suits most cabinet and drawer applications. Contact us if you need a larger configuration.

No — the Struer Knob requires no special maintenance. Wipe with a damp cloth to clean. The finish will develop a natural patina with use, which deepens the vintage character over time.

Yes — solid brass tolerates humidity without rusting or corroding. The Struer Knob is well-suited to bathroom vanity drawers and cabinet fronts.

The Struer weighs 24 grams — solid but not heavy. It sits firmly on cabinet doors and drawers without pulling the panel or straining the fixing over time.

The Struer Knob is currently available in vintage brass only. If you need a different finish, contact us — we can advise on alternatives within the range.

Yes — the Struer's sunburst and fluted detailing reads as tactile and craft-influenced, which works well in warm contemporary and transitional interiors alongside natural materials and neutral tones.
