The Object

Cylindrical and solidthe pull you'll use a hundred times a day

The Sorvagur Pull Bar is turned from solid brass into a smooth cylinder — no edges to catch, no hollow rattle. The corrosion-resistant finish holds up in kitchens and bathrooms without needing care. It comes as a T-knob or in five bar lengths up to 26.5 cm, with hole spacings to match standard and wider drawer fronts. In brass, black, or bronze.
Why you'll love it
  • Solid brass — no hollow rattle, weighty and precise
  • Corrosion-resistant finish — holds up in kitchens and bathrooms
  • Six sizes: T-knob plus five bar lengths to 26.5 cm
  • Three finishes: brass, black, bronze
  • Smooth cylindrical grip — comfortable on repeated daily use
Details

No wiring here — just careful measuring, drilling, and mounting. Mortice locks take a bit more patience than a simple knob.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — surface installation on doors, drawers, or cabinetry; check your product's dimensions for placement and drilling points

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), drill and drill bits, Allen key
  • Tape measure, pencil, level
  • Chisel (for mortice lock installation)
  • Screws and anchors, safety goggles

Step by step

  1. Cabinet hardware — mark drilling points — use a tape measure and pencil; a template helps for uniformity across multiple pieces.
  2. Cabinet hardware — drill holes — use a bit matched to the screw diameter, keeping the drill straight.
  3. Cabinet hardware — mount — insert screws from inside the cabinet or drawer, secure the hardware on the front face, and tighten without overtightening.
  4. Cabinet hardware — align and inspect — confirm straightness and spacing before fully securing.
  5. Thumb lock or dummy handle — confirm orientation — determine left- or right-hand door swing and adjust as needed.
  6. Thumb lock or dummy handle — mark installation height — typically 36–38 inches from the floor to the handle center; align the mounting plate.
  7. Thumb lock or dummy handle — drill and attach — drill pilot holes and secure the backplate and handle with the included screws. Dummy handles install directly, no latch mechanism.
  8. Thumb lock only — install the strike plate — mark the latch location on the door frame, chisel a recess if needed, and screw the strike plate in.
  9. Mortice lock — cut the mortice pocket — use a chisel and drill to create a cavity in the door edge, following the provided measurements.
  10. Mortice lock — insert the lock body — fit it into the cavity and attach through the faceplate with screws.
  11. Mortice lock — install the handle — align the spindle through the lock, attach handles on both sides, and tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key.
  12. Mortice lock — install the cylinder (if applicable) — insert the key cylinder and secure with the cylinder screw from the door edge.
  13. Mortice lock — mount the strike plate — align with the latch mechanism and secure to the door frame.

Good to know

  • Double-check measurements before drilling.
  • Use a level for consistent alignment across multiple units.
  • If you're unfamiliar with mortice installation, consult a locksmith or professional.
  • Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly before final tightening.
  • Dummy handles are decorative or pull-only — they don't engage latches or locks.

On the material

Brass turned smoothbuilt for daily reach

Solid brass is heavy enough to feel deliberate in the hand and resistant enough to hold its finish without maintenance. The Sorvagur Pull Bar's cylindrical profile is smooth across its full length — nothing decorative, nothing to collect grime. Hole spacings cover the standard range plus wider drawer fronts, so it fits most cabinet configurations without modification.
