The Object

Retro in formwarmth without pretension

The Rosheim is a compact drum — wood outer, iron inner — built from materials chosen for how they age rather than how they arrive. The warm light spills downward and outward through the open base, making it feel less like a fitting and more like a found object with a second life. Three sizes. Adjustable cord. Easy on any ceiling.
Why you'll love it
  • Wood-and-iron construction — retro character that ages well
  • Warm ambient light through an open drum base
  • Temperature and fade-resistant finish — built for long service
  • Adjustable cord to 1 m — sloped-ceiling compatible
  • 50,000-hour LEDs · replaceable E27 · three sizes
Details

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

Good to know

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

The making

Drum of wood and ironwarm inside

The Rosheim shade is built in layers: a wood outer shell over an iron inner frame, each material doing different work. The wood holds warmth; the iron holds shape. A temperature-resistant, non-toxic finish keeps both materials honest over years of use. Small enough to feel considered, present enough to anchor a room.

Wood over iron — character that improves with time, not against it.

Long-life LEDs

50,000 hours rated — replaceable E27 when the time eventually comes.

Frequently asked

The Rosheim ships free worldwide and typically arrives within 15–21 business days from dispatch. You'll receive tracking confirmation once your order leaves our fulfilment centre.

Yes — the Rosheim includes a junction box and all required mounting hardware. It connects to a standard ceiling electrical box. Professional installation by a qualified electrician is recommended for hardwired fixtures.

The Rosheim combines a solid wood outer shell with an iron inner frame — each chosen for how it holds up over time. The wood gives warmth and grain; the iron gives structural rigidity without adding unnecessary weight.

The Rosheim is built to last — the iron frame is strong and wear-resistant, and the wood is finished with a temperature and fade-resistant coating. Under normal indoor use, the fixture should give years of reliable service.

Yes — the Rosheim uses non-toxic paint throughout. It's certified safe for indoor residential use, including children's rooms and nurseries, making it a practical choice wherever you need a reliable, character-rich pendant.

Yes — the Rosheim comes with an adjustable cord up to 1 m. During installation, set the drop to your preferred hanging height before securing the canopy. The fixture is also sloped-ceiling compatible for angled ceilings.

The Rosheim LEDs are rated at 50,000 hours. At average household use of 5–6 hours per day, that's well over 20 years of operation. When replacement is eventually needed, a standard E27 LED from any supplier fits.

The Rosheim operates on 90–260V — compatible with electrical systems across North America, Europe, and most of the world. No transformer or adaptor is required for standard residential installations.

The Rosheim delivers 1500 lm at 15W — warm and comfortable for ambient use over a dining table, kitchen island, or reading nook. It's intentionally atmospheric rather than task-bright, suited to spaces where mood matters.

Yes — the Rosheim is designed for indoor residential use. It works well in dining rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and children's rooms. It is not rated for outdoor or damp environments.
