The Redsted Downlight is made from aluminium throughout — housing, frame, and backplate. Aluminium is chosen for its light weight, thermal performance (it dissipates LED heat efficiently), and resistance to corrosion over years of use.
Dimming is available as an optional configuration for the Redsted Downlight. Specify dimming at the time of order and we'll configure it for standard ceiling dimmer compatibility. The non-dimming version is the default.
The Redsted Downlight is available with three beam angles: 15° (narrow accent), 30° (task/focused ambient), and 45° (broad ambient). Contact us at the time of ordering to specify the angle that best suits your installation.
The Redsted Downlight is available in black and white aluminium finishes. Black integrates into dark or feature ceilings; white disappears into white ceilings. Both finishes are consistent across all head-count configurations.
Yes — the Redsted Downlight is available in six configurations: 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, and 15 heads. Each adds 2W of output and additional strip length. All share the same 4.5 cm width across the range.
The Redsted Downlight uses integrated LEDs throughout — from 2W for a single head to 30W for the 15-head strip. LEDs deliver significantly lower energy consumption than equivalent halogen downlights, with no warm-up time and minimal heat output.
The Redsted Downlight is recessed into a standard ceiling cutout and hardwired. We recommend installation by a certified electrician — the rectangular cutout is straightforward to route, but electrical connection should always be handled professionally.
The narrow rectangular profile and three beam-angle options give the Redsted Downlight precise control over how light lands in a room. A 15° angle highlights art or architectural features; 45° provides a broad, even ambient wash — the same fixture, a different room feel.
