Installation Guide

Most wall lamps are a simple bracket-and-wire job — but check your power type first, since hardwired, plug-in, and rechargeable models each install a little differently.

Before you begin

  • Dimming — most socketed lamps dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Power — hardwired, plug-in, or rechargeable depending on the model; check your product details
  • Mounting — wall-mount, hardware included
  • Indoor/outdoor — confirm your model is rated for outdoor use before installing outside

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver
  • Wire nuts (included for hardwired models)
  • Voltage tester
  • Power drill (for new mounting locations)

Step by step

  1. Identify your power type — hardwired, plug-in, or rechargeable. Follow the steps below for yours.
  2. If hardwired: turn off the power — switch off at your main electrical panel and confirm with a voltage tester.
  3. If hardwired: remove the old lamp — unscrew it and disconnect the wires by removing the wire nuts.
  4. If hardwired: attach the new mounting bracket — align it with your junction box or marked wall location and secure with the included screws.
  5. If hardwired: connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Twist and secure with wire nuts, then tuck neatly into the junction box.
  6. If hardwired: mount the fixture — align with the bracket and secure with the provided screws.
  7. If hardwired: install the bulb — correct type and wattage, if your model uses one.
  8. If hardwired: restore power and test.
  9. If plug-in: mount the bracket — with anchors or screws, then attach the fixture and plug it into a nearby outlet. Route the cord neatly.
  10. If rechargeable: mount the bracket — with screws and anchors, fully charge the lamp with the included cable, then install it onto the bracket and power on.

Good to know

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • Bring in a licensed electrician if you're unsure.
  • Dust and clean your fixture regularly to keep it looking its best.

A line drawn from the wall — glass at its centre

The Rail's geometry runs in one direction: a circular backplate, a horizontal arm, a vertical rod holding the glass. Nothing is concealed — the brass caps that hold the cylinder are part of the read, not hardware to hide. Lit, the ribbing turns a single bulb into a steady column of striated light.

Innovative engineering. Intelligent design.

Striated glow

Ribbed glass breaks the light into vertical lines instead of one bright point.

Exposed joinery

Brass caps and machined joints stay visible, showing the construction rather than hiding it.

Weighted base

A solid circular backplate anchors the arm with real proportion and presence.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of bulb does the Rail Wall Light use?

An E26-base LED bulb, included and replaceable. It runs at 8W (720 lumens) with a CRI of 90, so colours read true under the warm 2700K glow rather than washed out.

Is the bulb included with the Rail Wall Light?

Yes — the LED bulb ships with the fixture, ready to install. If it ever needs replacing, any standard E26 LED bulb will work with the fitting.

What voltage does the Rail Wall Light support?

It's built for 110VAC 50Hz, matching standard North American residential wiring. Confirm your local voltage before ordering if you're installing outside that range.

What material is the Rail Wall Light made from?

A stainless-steel frame in a vintage brass finish, with a ribbed glass cylinder at its centre. The combination gives it weight at the backplate and softness where the light diffuses through the glass.

Is the Rail Wall Light dimmable?

No, this fixture is not dimmable as standard. It's set to a fixed warm 2700K output designed to read as a steady, atmospheric glow rather than a bright task light.

How many bulbs does the Rail Wall Light require?

Just one — a single E26 LED bulb sits at the centre of the ribbed glass cylinder, and the fluting spreads that single source into an even column of light.

Where can the Rail Wall Light be installed?

It's designed for indoor wall mounting — hallways, bedside walls, or either side of a mirror. The IP20 rating means it's built for dry interior spaces, not bathrooms with direct water exposure.

What style of interiors does the Rail Wall Light suit best?

Its precise, architectural geometry pairs well with restrained modern interiors and transitional spaces that lean on brass and stone. The exposed joinery gives it a considered, structural presence rather than a purely decorative one.

Does the Rail Wall Light provide ambient lighting?

Yes — the ribbed glass diffuses the single LED into a soft, striated glow that suits ambient use rather than direct task lighting. It's built to set a mood, not light a workspace.

Can the Rail Wall Light be used as a decorative focal point?

Yes — the exposed brass joinery and glass column are designed to be seen, not hidden. Mounted alone or paired symmetrically, it reads as an architectural detail as much as a light source.
