The Object

Recessed and sealedlight without the glare

The Pyrite sits flush in the ceiling and disappears — the aluminium housing blends into the surface, and the deep anti-glare recess keeps the LED source out of view. IP65-rated for bathrooms and kitchens, sloped-ceiling compatible, and available across nine wattages from 7 W to 35 W so the output matches the room. Integrated LED rated at 50,000 hours; nothing to replace.
Why you'll love it
  • IP65-rated — fully waterproof for bathrooms and wet rooms
  • Deep anti-glare recess — no visible LED source, no eye strain
  • Seven to 35 W across three sizes — match output to the space
  • Integrated LED, 50,000-hour lifespan — nothing to replace
  • Sloped-ceiling compatible · white finish · 90–260 V
Details

The install depends on your mount type — trimless, recessed, semi-recessed, surface, or track — so confirm which one you have before you start.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — trimless, recessed, semi-recessed, surface-mounted, or track-mounted; confirm the type in your product listing
  • Ceilings — most models suit drywall; some also work with concrete or drop ceilings, check the technical documentation
  • Dimming — many designs dim when paired with compatible drivers and wall dimmers
  • Power — hardwired, connects directly to a ceiling electrical junction
  • Trimless — may need professional finishing or flush-mount drywall work
  • Track — installs onto a compatible rail system; check your product's specification for track type

What you'll need

  • Drill, keyhole or drywall saw (for recessed or trimless)
  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included with most fixtures), screws and wall anchors (for surface mounting)
  • Level, measuring tape or pencil

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — at the breaker panel, and confirm with a voltage tester.
  2. Prepare the ceiling opening (recessed and trimless only) — mark your opening with the provided template and cut carefully with a drywall saw or hole cutter. Trimless models need deeper space and extra setup for a seamless finish.
  3. Install the mounting hardware or fixture housing — recessed and trimless designs insert into the ceiling cavity and secure with spring clips or fasteners (trimless may need joist framing); semi-recessed fixtures partially install per the included instructions; surface-mounted downlights attach directly with screws and wall anchors; track fixtures need a compatible track system first, then lock into place.
  4. Connect the wiring — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck neatly back into the housing or box.
  5. Final assembly — trimless fixtures get mudded and feathered into the ceiling plane before painting; recessed, semi-recessed, and surface fixtures finish by twisting or snapping the trim or body into place; track lights get positioned and rotated along the rail after locking in.
  6. Restore power and test — use the wall switch or dimmer to verify proper operation.

Good to know

  • Professional installation is recommended for trimless or recessed downlights, especially with mudding or insulation involved.
  • Follow local electrical codes and regulations.
  • Use only compatible drivers and dimmers for your fixture.
  • Keep safe spacing from insulation in ceiling cavities to prevent overheating.

How it works

Deep recessthe source stays hidden

Anti-glare downlights work by keeping the LED far enough back inside the housing that it's not visible from normal viewing angles. The Pyrite's deep recess does this consistently — you see the light on the surface below, not the source above. In bathrooms and kitchens where you're often looking up, that distinction matters for comfort.

No glare

Frequently asked

The Pyrite Downlight's integrated LED is rated at 50,000+ hours — that's over 17 years at 8 hours daily. Reliable long-term output without bulb changes.

Yes — the Pyrite Downlight is IP65-rated, which covers rain, direct water splash, and the sustained humidity of bathrooms, wet rooms, and commercial kitchen environments.

Switch off power at the main breaker, cut the required ceiling aperture, connect the included driver to the power source, wire the Pyrite Downlight per the provided instructions, and adjust alignment. We recommend a certified electrician for the hardwired connection.

High-quality aluminium — lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and sealed to IP65. The white finish is uniform and holds up in humid or high-traffic environments.

Yes — the Pyrite Downlight's IP65 rating makes it suitable for bathrooms, shower rooms, and commercial kitchens. It also works in living rooms, bedrooms, corridors, hotels, and retail spaces.

Yes. The Pyrite Downlight's clean white finish, IP65 rating, and 50,000-hour LED lifespan make it well-suited for hotels, corridors, retail environments, and any commercial installation where low maintenance matters.

Yes — the Pyrite Downlight uses a deep anti-glare recess that positions the LED far enough back inside the housing to keep it out of sight at normal viewing angles. The result is comfortable, shadow-free light.

The Pyrite Downlight runs from 7 W to 35 W — delivering 770 to 3850 lm from very low wattages. At 50,000 hours of life, the total cost of ownership is significantly lower than equivalent halogen or fluorescent alternatives.

90–260 V — compatible with standard residential and commercial voltage in most countries. No adapter or step-down transformer required.

The Pyrite Downlight housing is white — a neutral finish that disappears into most ceiling surfaces. Colour temperature options (warm, cool, or neutral white) are available on request at order.
