Details

Most wall lamps are a simple bracket-and-wire job — but check your power type first, since hardwired, plug-in, and rechargeable models each install a little differently.

Before you begin

  • Dimming — most socketed lamps dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Power — hardwired, plug-in, or rechargeable depending on the model; check your product details
  • Mounting — wall-mount, hardware included
  • Indoor/outdoor — confirm your model is rated for outdoor use before installing outside

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver
  • Wire nuts (included for hardwired models)
  • Voltage tester
  • Power drill (for new mounting locations)

Step by step

  1. Identify your power type — hardwired, plug-in, or rechargeable. Follow the steps below for yours.
  2. If hardwired: turn off the power — switch off at your main electrical panel and confirm with a voltage tester.
  3. If hardwired: remove the old lamp — unscrew it and disconnect the wires by removing the wire nuts.
  4. If hardwired: attach the new mounting bracket — align it with your junction box or marked wall location and secure with the included screws.
  5. If hardwired: connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Twist and secure with wire nuts, then tuck neatly into the junction box.
  6. If hardwired: mount the fixture — align with the bracket and secure with the provided screws.
  7. If hardwired: install the bulb — correct type and wattage, if your model uses one.
  8. If hardwired: restore power and test.
  9. If plug-in: mount the bracket — with anchors or screws, then attach the fixture and plug it into a nearby outlet. Route the cord neatly.
  10. If rechargeable: mount the bracket — with screws and anchors, fully charge the lamp with the included cable, then install it onto the bracket and power on.

Good to know

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • Bring in a licensed electrician if you're unsure.
  • Dust and clean your fixture regularly to keep it looking its best.

How it works

Beam width adjuststhen app sets everything else

The Paljakka gives two layers of control. First, the physical beam angle adjusts from 15° to 60° — set this at installation to match the target: a narrow trunk, a broad facade, a pathway. Second, Zigbee and Bluetooth let you control brightness and colour temperature remotely, without returning to the fixture each time the scene changes.

Innovative engineering · intelligent design
Three capabilities that make the Paljakka a genuinely smart outdoor light.
Smart control

Zigbee and Bluetooth connect the Paljakka to most smart home platforms — control remotely.

Beam adjustment

Physical beam angle runs from a 15° spot to a 60° flood — set once, adjust any time.

Die-cast brass construction holds up to outdoor use without corroding or losing form.

Frequently asked

The Paljakka Spotlight is made from die-cast brass — a dense, heavy material that resists corrosion outdoors. The bronze finish adds additional surface protection while giving the fixture a considered, warm-toned aesthetic in garden and facade settings.

The Paljakka runs on 9–17V AC/DC, so a compatible low-voltage driver or transformer is required — confirm this with your electrician before ordering. Zigbee control also requires a compatible smart home hub if you plan to integrate it with a broader system.

The Paljakka offers adjustable beam angles from 15° (tight accent) to 60° (broad wash) and tunable colour temperature from 2700K warm to 6000K cool. These two variables let you shape both the character and the coverage of the light at installation.

Yes. The Paljakka is fully dimmable — brightness is controllable via the Zigbee or Bluetooth interface, or through a compatible wall dimmer if configured that way. No separate dimmer switch is required for app-based control.

The Paljakka connects via Zigbee and Bluetooth, enabling remote control of brightness and colour temperature through a compatible app or smart home platform. It integrates with most major systems that support Zigbee-based lighting.

Yes. Via Bluetooth you can control the Paljakka from a smartphone when nearby. Via Zigbee, with a compatible hub, control extends across your home network — and in some setups, remotely via the internet.

The Paljakka uses an integrated LED — there is no separate bulb. The LED module is built into the fixture and is not user-replaceable. It delivers 6–24W (660–2640 lm) or 1–10W (110–1100 lm) depending on the variant.

Yes. The Paljakka uses an integrated LED at a low wattage relative to its light output. Zigbee and Bluetooth control also mean you can schedule on/off times and dim the output, reducing energy use when full brightness isn't needed.

The Paljakka operates on 9–17V AC/DC — a low-voltage system. A compatible driver or transformer is required to step down from standard mains voltage. Your electrician will specify the correct transformer for your installation.

Yes — the Paljakka is available in two power variants: 6–24W (660–2640 lm) for stronger output on building facades and large garden areas, and 1–10W (110–1100 lm) for gentler accent use on planting, pathways, or smaller features.
