Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

The variation in height is intentional — it creates the cascading waterfall effect and means no two viewing angles produce the same composition. Due to the Palau Chandelier's weight (up to 30 kg) and size, professional installation by a certified electrician is strongly recommended. Ensure the ceiling junction box and structural support are rated for the weight.

What type of bulbs are recommended?

The Palau Chandelier uses E12 or G9 LED bulbs, which are included. Use replacements of the same base type; choose a warm colour temperature (2700–3000K) for the most flattering result with smoked glass.

Can it be used in outdoor settings?

No — the Palau Chandelier is rated IP20 for indoor dry spaces only. It is not suitable for outdoor installations, covered terraces, or damp environments.

Are there any specific cleaning instructions?

Wipe each glass teardrop with a dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, use a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Never use chemical cleaners or solvents on the glass or copper frame.
