The Object

Quietwoven into the wall

The Oudega Wall Panel runs vertical wood slats across black felt backing — the slats break up the noise, the felt absorbs what gets through. Install it behind a bed, across a home-office wall, or along a dining room feature wall, and the room becomes noticeably quieter. Four finishes: the pale lift of oak, the warmth of teak, the depth of walnut, the sharpness of black.
Why you'll love it
  • Vertical slats reduce room echo and background noise
  • Black felt backing absorbs sound effectively
  • Four wood finishes — oak, teak, walnut, black
  • Single panel: 65 x 240 cm — covers large feature walls
  • Suits residential bedrooms, offices, and commercial spaces
Details

Three ways to install, depending on your panel — nail gun, peel-and-stick, or glue-on. Pick the one that matches what you ordered.

Before you begin

  • Prep — walls should be clean, dry, and smooth; remove dust, grease, nails, and flaky paint
  • Layout — measure and mark your starting line with a level and pencil, and lay out panels on the floor first to visualize placement

What you'll need

  • Tape measure, level, pencil or chalk line
  • Utility knife or fine-tooth saw, clean cloth
  • Caulk gun (if using adhesive), rubber roller (for peel-and-stick), brad nail gun (for nail gun install)

Step by step

  1. Nail gun — for thicker or heavier panels like wood/MDF. Locate wall studs with a stud finder and mark them.
  2. Nail gun — start at the bottom corner and align your first panel to your guidelines.
  3. Nail gun — fasten into studs — nails every 12–16".
  4. Nail gun — fit remaining panels tightly together and continue fastening. Fill nail holes with wood filler or color-matched putty. Optionally, add caulk between panels for seamless joints. Leave a 1/8" gap at edges for expansion.
  5. Peel-and-stick — for lightweight panels with pre-applied adhesive. Wipe the wall clean of dust and grease and let it dry fully. Measure and draw a level starting line.
  6. Peel-and-stick — peel and place — remove the adhesive backing from the first panel, align carefully, and press onto the wall starting at one edge.
  7. Peel-and-stick — roll it flat — use a rubber roller to apply even pressure, then continue placing panels tightly against each other. Avoid repositioning — the adhesive is strongest on first contact.
  8. Glue-on — for panels without adhesive, like solid PVC, composite, or acoustic. Clean the wall surface thoroughly.
  9. Glue-on — apply adhesive in an "S" or zig-zag pattern on the back of the panel.
  10. Glue-on — press into place — align to your guide marks and press firmly against the wall. Use painter's tape to hold it if needed.
  11. Glue-on — repeat and finish — continue with remaining panels, keeping spacing even and level. Wipe away any adhesive squeeze-out with a damp cloth. Let adhesive cure 24–48 hours before applying pressure or weight.

How it works

Slat by slatsilence builds behind the wall

Each vertical wood slat sits in front of a layer of black acoustic felt. Sound that enters the gap between slats is caught and absorbed before it can bounce back into the room. The result is a surface that looks architectural and performs acoustically — the two jobs are the same object.

Innovative engineering · intelligent design
Three reasons the Oudega does both jobs at once.
Quieter rooms

The felt backing absorbs sound that gets between the slats, reducing echo and ambient noise.

Four finishes

Oak for light Scandinavian spaces, teak for warmth, walnut for depth, black for contrast.

One large panel

Each Oudega panel is 65 x 240 cm — enough to anchor a full feature wall on its own.

Frequently asked

The Oudega Wall Panel is made from high-quality wood slats mounted on a black felt backing. The wood is sustainably sourced; the felt is an acoustic-grade material chosen to absorb rather than reflect sound.

Each Oudega Wall Panel measures 65 cm wide by 240 cm tall. At that height it covers most full-height feature walls without needing to stack multiple panels vertically.

Sound travels into the gaps between the Oudega's vertical slats and is absorbed by the felt backing rather than bouncing back into the room. This reduces echo, softens high frequencies, and creates a noticeably quieter environment.

Yes. The Oudega is well suited to offices, meeting rooms, hospitality venues, and studios where both acoustics and aesthetics matter. Its clean lines work with most commercial interior standards.

The Oudega comes in four finishes: oak (pale and airy), teak (warm mid-tone), walnut (rich and deep), and black (high-contrast). Each finish suits a different palette — from Scandinavian minimalism to bold contemporary.

The Oudega mounts directly to the wall. Professional installation is recommended to ensure it hangs level and is secured correctly, especially for a panel of this height. Most installations take under an hour.

Yes. The Oudega is crafted from sustainably sourced wood and uses non-toxic finishes. It's a considered choice for those who want responsible materials without compromising on quality or appearance.

Absolutely — the bedroom is one of the best applications for the Oudega. Installed behind a bed it reduces noise bleed from adjacent rooms, softens morning sound, and adds a warm textured backdrop to the space.

Maintenance is minimal. Dust the slats occasionally with a soft dry cloth. Avoid soaking or steam-cleaning the wood — a barely damp cloth handles any marks. The felt backing requires no direct cleaning under normal use.

The Oudega's vertical slat pattern draws the eye upward, making standard-height ceilings read taller. As a full-height 240 cm panel, it creates a continuous architectural line that adds visual depth and structure to flat walls.
