The Object

Fabric overheadwarmth filtered through cloth

The Orosei Ceiling Light wraps a wide fabric shade around five E27 bulbs on an iron frame, drawing from wabi-sabi's approach to material honesty — the cloth diffuses the light into warmth, the iron structure stays visible and matter-of-fact. Choose warm, cool, or neutral light; adjust the pendant pipe for ceiling height. Brown or white finish, 80 cm across.
Why you'll love it
  • Japanese-cloth shade softens five E27 bulbs into warm, even light
  • Wabi-sabi-inspired design — textile and iron, nothing artificial
  • Three colour temperatures: warm (3000K), cool (6000K), neutral (4000K)
  • Brown or white finish, 80 cm shade diameter
  • Height-adjustable pipe mount, wide-voltage 90–260V
Details

A close-to-ceiling install for low-clearance rooms — power off, mount the bracket, match the wires, done.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — direct to a standard ceiling junction box; sits close against the ceiling
  • Dimming — most socketed models dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Ceilings — flat ceilings only; for vaulted or sloped ceilings, look at semi-flush or pendant options instead
  • Power — hardwired to your home's electrical system

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — shut it off at the breaker panel and confirm with a voltage tester.
  2. Remove the fixture cover — twist or unclip the outer shade or base cover to expose the mounting plate and wiring.
  3. Install the mounting bracket — attach it to the ceiling junction box with the supplied screws, secure and level.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the junction box.
  5. Attach the fixture base — lift into place, align with the bracket, and secure with the provided screws so it sits flush against the ceiling.
  6. Reattach the cover — twist, clip, or fasten the decorative cover or diffuser back on.
  7. Restore power and test.

Good to know

  • Great for standard or low ceilings — hallways, bedrooms, closets.
  • Confirm your junction box can support the fixture's weight.
  • Follow local electrical codes.
  • When in doubt, bring in a licensed electrician.

On the build

Iron pipe and fabricfive bulbs filtered warm

The Orosei Ceiling Light uses a pipe-erected structure rather than a cord or chain, which gives it more rigidity and a more deliberate posture overhead. The Japanese cloth shade wraps the five E27 sources, absorbing some of the light into the weave and releasing the rest as warm, diffuse fill. The pipe height is adjustable to fit your ceiling.

Frequently asked

No — the Orosei Ceiling Light is not dimmable. Select the colour temperature version that best suits your space at the time of ordering: warm (3000K), neutral (4000K), or cool (6000K).

The included E27 LEDs have a long rated lifespan under normal use. When they eventually need replacing, any standard E27 base LED of the same wattage works as a direct substitute.

The Orosei uses five LED E27 bulbs at a combined 75W — efficient for the output level of 7500 lm, and significantly more economical than equivalent incandescent or halogen sources.

Yes — the Orosei Ceiling Light includes all mounting hardware and E27 bulbs. A certified electrician is recommended to handle the hardwired pipe-mount connection.

Yes. The pipe-erected structure and hardwired connection to a ceiling junction box are best handled by a certified electrician for a clean, level result.

The pipe structure allows height adjustment up to 1.2 m total drop. Note: it is not compatible with sloped ceilings — flat ceilings only.

Dust the fabric shade with a soft dry brush or low-suction vacuum attachment every few months. The iron frame can be wiped with a dry cloth. Avoid damp or chemical cleaners on the fabric.

Yes — the wabi-sabi design language blends traditional Japanese material sensibility with a clean iron structure. It sits well in minimalist, Japandi, rustic, and transitional rooms.

The cloth absorbs some of the direct light from each bulb and scatters the rest as diffuse, warm fill. The effect is noticeably softer and more settled than a bare bulb or clear glass shade.
