Installation Guide

No wiring here — just careful measuring, drilling, and mounting. Mortice locks take a bit more patience than a simple knob.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — surface installation on doors, drawers, or cabinetry; check your product's dimensions for placement and drilling points

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), drill and drill bits, Allen key
  • Tape measure, pencil, level
  • Chisel (for mortice lock installation)
  • Screws and anchors, safety goggles

Step by step

  1. Cabinet hardware — mark drilling points — use a tape measure and pencil; a template helps for uniformity across multiple pieces.
  2. Cabinet hardware — drill holes — use a bit matched to the screw diameter, keeping the drill straight.
  3. Cabinet hardware — mount — insert screws from inside the cabinet or drawer, secure the hardware on the front face, and tighten without overtightening.
  4. Cabinet hardware — align and inspect — confirm straightness and spacing before fully securing.
  5. Thumb lock or dummy handle — confirm orientation — determine left- or right-hand door swing and adjust as needed.
  6. Thumb lock or dummy handle — mark installation height — typically 36–38 inches from the floor to the handle center; align the mounting plate.
  7. Thumb lock or dummy handle — drill and attach — drill pilot holes and secure the backplate and handle with the included screws. Dummy handles install directly, no latch mechanism.
  8. Thumb lock only — install the strike plate — mark the latch location on the door frame, chisel a recess if needed, and screw the strike plate in.
  9. Mortice lock — cut the mortice pocket — use a chisel and drill to create a cavity in the door edge, following the provided measurements.
  10. Mortice lock — insert the lock body — fit it into the cavity and attach through the faceplate with screws.
  11. Mortice lock — install the handle — align the spindle through the lock, attach handles on both sides, and tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key.
  12. Mortice lock — install the cylinder (if applicable) — insert the key cylinder and secure with the cylinder screw from the door edge.
  13. Mortice lock — mount the strike plate — align with the latch mechanism and secure to the door frame.

Good to know

  • Double-check measurements before drilling.
  • Use a level for consistent alignment across multiple units.
  • If you're unfamiliar with mortice installation, consult a locksmith or professional.
  • Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly before final tightening.
  • Dummy handles are decorative or pull-only — they don't engage latches or locks.

Brass — brushed, not polished

A brushed finish softens the brass so it reads warm rather than shiny, catching light without a hard glare. Set along the edge of a cabinet rather than mounted on its face, it keeps the overall look clean while still giving a real, tactile grip. Over time the brass will pick up a natural patina from handling.

Innovative engineering. Intelligent design.

Frequently Asked Questions

What material is the Organya Cabinet Pull made from?

Solid brass, chosen for its warmth and the way it develops a natural patina with regular handling over time.

What design style does this hardware suit best?

Its slim, edge-mounted profile suits modern and minimalist kitchens, though the warm brass finish also works in transitional and classic spaces.

Where can the Organya Cabinet Pull be installed?

It's designed for cabinet doors, drawers, wardrobes, and built-in furniture wherever a low-profile edge pull is preferred over a projecting handle.

Is this edge pull suitable for kitchens and bathrooms?

Yes — the solid brass construction and secure mounting make it a good fit for both kitchen cabinetry and bathroom vanities.

Does the hardware sit flush with cabinetry?

Yes — the edge-mounted design sits close along the door or drawer edge, keeping the overall cabinet face clean and uninterrupted.

What makes this edge pull visually distinctive?

Its half-round profile creates one continuous curved line rather than a projecting handle, giving cabinetry a quiet, considered look.

Does the brass finish affect interior aesthetics?

Yes — the brushed brass adds warmth and a subtle glow to cabinetry, and it deepens gracefully in tone the longer it's used.

Is this hardware durable for daily use?

Yes — solid brass construction holds up to years of daily opening and closing without the wear issues of plated or hollow hardware.

Can it be used in commercial interiors?

Yes — its durability and clean profile suit both residential kitchens and commercial or hospitality cabinetry where hardware sees heavy use.

What type of cabinetry works best with this edge pull?

It suits flat-panel and slab-front cabinetry especially well, where the slim edge profile can sit flush without disrupting a clean design line.
