The Object

Fittedwith the finish it deserves

The Noto Socket replaces the standard plastic telephone faceplate with one made from quality brass. The RJ11 port sits centred in a slim rectangular plate, finished consistently with the surrounding wall hardware. Smooth, quiet operation every time the connector is seated. A small fixture done properly — matching the Nok in material and ethos, for telephone rather than ethernet.
Why you'll love it
  • Brass faceplate — replaces plastic with a considered finish
  • RJ11 connection for telephone and DSL use
  • Slim rectangular face keeps the wall clean
  • Smooth connector operation — no loose fit or rattle
  • Coordinates with matching Nok ethernet socket
Details

A standard outlet swap — power off, match the wires, new brass outlet in. GFCI and USB-C models just have a couple of extra terminals to watch for.

What's included

Brass plate, your selected outlet type (Standard, USB-C, or GFCI), and mounting accessories.

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, wire stripper

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — at your circuit breaker or fuse box.
  2. Remove the old cover plate — unscrew it and set it aside.
  3. Take out the old outlet — unscrew it from the electrical box and gently pull it out.
  4. Disconnect the wires — loosen the screws, or if back-inserted, cut and strip the ends.
  5. Connect the wires to the new outlet — wrap around screws or insert into terminals, following the Line, Neutral, and Ground markings (especially for GFCI and USB-C outlets).
  6. Secure the new outlet — tuck the wires back into the electrical box and fasten with the provided screws.
  7. Attach the new cover plate — place the brass plate over the outlet and screw it in.
  8. Turn the power back on — at the circuit breaker or fuse box.
  9. Test it — plug in a device to confirm power. For USB-C, test with a compatible charger. For GFCI, press the Test and Reset buttons to confirm it's working.

The finish

Brass platethe telephone socket that fits the room

Like the Nok ethernet socket, the Noto is built around the idea that even utility fittings can hold their tone on a well-considered wall. The brass faceplate is finished to match: the same material, the same screw placement, the same proportion. The RJ11 port accepts standard telephone and DSL plugs. Nothing special is needed at the cable end — what changes is what you see on the surface.
