Installation Guide

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

The Monsaraz's brass rod is cut slightly longer than your ceiling height, then tightened with an integrated adjustment sleeve until it holds itself taut between floor and ceiling — no drilling into the ceiling required.

What ceiling heights does it fit?

The rod adjusts across a 260 to 285 cm range to suit most standard ceilings. Measure your space before ordering so the sleeve has enough travel to lock in fully.

What's the light like?

A single LED bulb sits behind ribbed glass, so the 2700K glow reads as soft vertical striations rather than one bright point — warm, ambient, and easy on the eyes at close range.

Is the bulb included and replaceable?

Yes — it ships with one E26 LED bulb installed, and it's a standard base, so a replacement is easy to find locally if you ever need one.

Is it dimmable?

No, this fixture runs at a fixed 720-lumen output. If you need adjustable brightness, let the Nava team know and we can point you to a dimmable alternative.

How much floor space does it take up?

Very little — the base is 16 cm in diameter, so it reads as a vertical line rather than a floor lamp. It suits tight corners, hallway ends, or spots a traditional lamp wouldn't fit.

No hardwiring — it plugs into a standard outlet with a corded wall plug, though we still recommend a careful, level installation given the floor-to-ceiling tension.
