The Menaldum Handle is made from solid brass throughout — no hollow sections, no chrome or zinc plating over a base metal. At 970g, the weight is the first thing you notice when you hold it.
The knurled grip runs the full length of the bar, so you can hold the Menaldum anywhere along it with equal traction. The 27.5cm length means a natural hand position regardless of door height or approach angle.
The Menaldum is designed for interior sliding doors — living rooms, kitchens, balcony transitions, and bedroom barn doors. For outdoor exposure, the black finish holds best; the brass will patina faster.
Mark two holes at 18.6cm centre-to-centre, drill to the specified depth, and secure with the included hardware. The handle can be fitted with a screwdriver in under 15 minutes on most door types.
No special maintenance is needed. The Menaldum's brass will develop a natural patina with handling — if you prefer a brighter finish, a brass polish applied occasionally keeps it like new.
The 18.6cm hole spacing is standard across most barn door and sliding door hardware systems. Check your door's face depth before ordering to confirm the included screws will reach the substrate.
