Installation Guide

No wiring here — just careful measuring, drilling, and mounting. Mortice locks take a bit more patience than a simple knob.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — surface installation on doors, drawers, or cabinetry; check your product's dimensions for placement and drilling points

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), drill and drill bits, Allen key
  • Tape measure, pencil, level
  • Chisel (for mortice lock installation)
  • Screws and anchors, safety goggles

Step by step

  1. Cabinet hardware — mark drilling points — use a tape measure and pencil; a template helps for uniformity across multiple pieces.
  2. Cabinet hardware — drill holes — use a bit matched to the screw diameter, keeping the drill straight.
  3. Cabinet hardware — mount — insert screws from inside the cabinet or drawer, secure the hardware on the front face, and tighten without overtightening.
  4. Cabinet hardware — align and inspect — confirm straightness and spacing before fully securing.
  5. Thumb lock or dummy handle — confirm orientation — determine left- or right-hand door swing and adjust as needed.
  6. Thumb lock or dummy handle — mark installation height — typically 36–38 inches from the floor to the handle center; align the mounting plate.
  7. Thumb lock or dummy handle — drill and attach — drill pilot holes and secure the backplate and handle with the included screws. Dummy handles install directly, no latch mechanism.
  8. Thumb lock only — install the strike plate — mark the latch location on the door frame, chisel a recess if needed, and screw the strike plate in.
  9. Mortice lock — cut the mortice pocket — use a chisel and drill to create a cavity in the door edge, following the provided measurements.
  10. Mortice lock — insert the lock body — fit it into the cavity and attach through the faceplate with screws.
  11. Mortice lock — install the handle — align the spindle through the lock, attach handles on both sides, and tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key.
  12. Mortice lock — install the cylinder (if applicable) — insert the key cylinder and secure with the cylinder screw from the door edge.
  13. Mortice lock — mount the strike plate — align with the latch mechanism and secure to the door frame.

Good to know

  • Double-check measurements before drilling.
  • Use a level for consistent alignment across multiple units.
  • If you're unfamiliar with mortice installation, consult a locksmith or professional.
  • Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly before final tightening.
  • Dummy handles are decorative or pull-only — they don't engage latches or locks.

Brushed — texture that catches the light

The Llavorsi's brushed surface isn't flat — soft radial lines run across the knob face, and linear striations run the length of each pull. That texture is what gives the brass its warmth under different light, and what deepens fastest into patina wherever hands return most. One family, five pull sizes, endless combinations across a kitchen.

Innovative engineering. Intelligent design.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Llavorsi Knob & Pull Bar?

A coordinated cabinet hardware family — a rounded knob for drawers and smaller fronts, paired with a linear pull bar in five lengths for taller cabinet doors.

What material is used to make this hardware?

Solid brass throughout, finished with a brushed texture that gives both the knob and pull a warm, tactile surface that develops patina with use.

What design style does this product follow?

A quiet, architectural style — balanced, restrained forms without ornamentation, designed to read as structure rather than decoration on cabinetry.

How is the knob designed?

A rounded silhouette with a brushed radial finish, sized for a comfortable grip and best suited to drawers and smaller cabinet fronts.

What is the design of the drawer pull?

A clean linear bar with a brushed finish, available in five lengths so it scales appropriately from narrow drawers to wide cabinet doors.

Where can this Knob & Drawer pull be installed?

Kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, bathroom vanities, and furniture drawers — the matched pair lets you use one consistent hardware language throughout a room.

What finishes are available for this product?

Three finishes: Vintage Brass, Brass, and Brushed Nickel — all applied over the same solid brass base for consistent weight and quality.

Does the design suit modern interiors?

Yes — its clean, balanced forms suit modern and transitional interiors especially well, though the brass tone also grounds it in more classic spaces.

Can the knob and pull be used together?

Yes — they're designed as a matched family specifically so you can mix them across a kitchen: knobs on drawers, pulls on taller doors, using the same finish.

What visual effect does the brass material provide?

The brushed brass catches light in soft radial and linear patterns depending on the piece, and develops a natural patina over time that adds visual depth.
