The Object

Lit from insidenot projected down

The Linen Pendant Light hangs a row of cubic alabaster shades from a slim stainless-steel bar. Each cube glows from within rather than projecting a beam downward, so the light reads as a soft, even ribbon rather than a row of spots. The pearlescent alabaster catches the warm tones of the G9 LED and spreads them evenly across a dining table or kitchen island. Choose 6, 8, or 10 heads; dimmable on request.
Why you'll love it
  • Cubic alabaster shades glow from within — soft, not projected
  • Pearlescent alabaster surface shifts subtly with the light
  • Stainless steel bar and fittings — built for long-term use
  • 6, 8, or 10 heads — scales to your table or island length
  • Replaceable G9 LEDs, dimmable on request, sloped-ceiling compatible
Details

A standard hardwired ceiling install — most of it is switching off the power and matching three wires. Set your hanging height before you connect anything, and you're most of the way there.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — to a standard ceiling junction box
  • Power — hardwired to your mains supply
  • Dimming — socketed bulbs dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Drop — arrives at 47" (1.2 m); want it shorter or longer? Just email us before it ships
  • Ceilings — flat, and most sloped (check the product specs)

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — switch off the lighting circuit at the breaker, then confirm it's dead with a voltage tester.
  2. Mount the bracket — fasten the included bracket to the junction box, snug and level.
  3. Set your height — before wiring, adjust the cord, chain, or downrod to your drop and lock it at the canopy.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the box.
  5. Attach the fixture — line the canopy up with the bracket and fix it flush with the provided screws or caps.
  6. Add the bulbs — correct type and wattage; if dimming, check the bulbs match your wall dimmer.
  7. Power on and test.

Good to know

  • Follow your local electrical codes.
  • For high or angled ceilings, or anything complex, bring in a licensed electrician.
  • Don't over-tighten decorative parts; dust gently with a soft cloth.

On the stone

Each cubea block of glowing alabaster

Alabaster marble is chosen for its natural translucence — light passes through rather than bouncing off the surface. The cubic cut of each shade means the glow diffuses evenly from all four sides, not just the underface. The pearlescent quality of the stone catches warm light and holds it, so the fitting reads differently in daylight and after dark.

Frequently asked

The Linen Pendant Light uses real alabaster marble for the shades and stainless steel for the bar and fittings. Alabaster is a naturally translucent stone — light passes through it rather than reflecting off it, creating the soft inner glow.

The Linen Pendant Light is available in 6, 8, or 10 head configurations. The shade shape and stone are fixed as part of the design. If you need a bespoke configuration, contact us and we can discuss options with our production team.

Warm white (3000K) creates a cosy, candlelit feel perfect for dining rooms. Neutral white (4000K) reads cleaner and works well in kitchens. Cool white (6000K) gives a crisper, more focused light for task-heavy areas.

Yes — the Linen Pendant Light also works well in entryways, over a breakfast bar, or in a living room where a long, low-hanging fixture makes sense. The adjustable cord allows you to set the ideal drop height for your space.

Most alabaster pendants use rounded or cylindrical shades. The cubic form of the Linen Pendant Light means each shade has flat, polished faces that catch and diffuse light differently — creating a more architectural, structured look while retaining the soft inner glow.

The Linen Pendant Light is hardwired and requires connection to a ceiling junction box. The cord is adjustable to your preferred drop height. Professional installation by a certified electrician is recommended — we include all mounting hardware.

The 10-head configuration delivers 50W and 5000 lm — enough to light a long dining table or a large kitchen island as primary overhead light. For very large open-plan rooms, consider pairing it with additional ambient sources.

The natural alabaster in the Linen Pendant Light has a faint pearlescent quality — it shifts slightly in tone depending on the light angle. This means the fitting looks different in morning daylight than it does lit from within at night, giving it a quiet, living quality.

Yes. The clean cubic form works in contemporary kitchens and dining rooms, while the natural stone material reads warmly in period homes. The Linen Pendant Light bridges both without leaning too far into either.

A row of glowing alabaster cubes suspended at table height creates a focal point that works both day and night. Unlit, the stone reads as a sculptural material element; lit, the Linen Pendant Light becomes the warm heart of the room.
