The Lanyard's 600 mAh battery provides up to 8 hours of light on a full 8-hour solar charge in direct sunlight. Partial-sun days will reduce run time proportionally.
No — the Lanyard is solar-powered and self-contained. Fix it to any outdoor wall using the included rubber plugs and screws, or use 3M adhesive tape. No electrician or wiring is needed.
The Lanyard has a toggle switch on the unit that selects between warm white and white output. The switch is accessible on the back panel before mounting — set your preferred mode once and leave it.
The Lanyard uses integrated LEDs rated to 50,000 hours — roughly 17 years at 8 hours per night. They are not user-replaceable, but the lifespan means replacement is unlikely to be needed during normal ownership.
The Lanyard body is durable black plastic, UV-stabilised to resist fading and cracking in sunlight. The internal components are sealed behind an IP65 waterproof barrier.

A photosensitive sensor on the front of the Lanyard reads ambient light intensity continuously. When it detects that daylight has fallen below a set threshold, it activates the LEDs. At dawn, rising light levels trigger automatic switch-off.
Keep the solar panel clear of dust, bird droppings, and accumulated debris — a wipe with a damp cloth every few weeks maintains charging efficiency. The body and LED array require no other maintenance.
