Six sourcesheld in a grid

The Kythnos Ceiling Lamp frames six E27 bulbs in an open iron grid — clear glass panels on each face so the light goes everywhere, nothing blocked, nothing hidden. The matte black frame is a graphic statement: strong lines, no ornamentation. It's a lamp that earns its place in a kitchen or dining room by making the light itself the decoration.
Why you'll love it
  • Six exposed bulbs — bright, even coverage across the room
  • Open iron grid with clear glass panels — nothing obscuring the light
  • 72W output — 7,200 lm for kitchens or large dining spaces
  • Replaceable E27 LEDs — easy to swap, included
  • Matte black iron frame · dimmable on request
Details

A close-to-ceiling install for low-clearance rooms — power off, mount the bracket, match the wires, done.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — direct to a standard ceiling junction box; sits close against the ceiling
  • Dimming — most socketed models dim; integrated-LED models don't
  • Ceilings — flat ceilings only; for vaulted or sloped ceilings, look at semi-flush or pendant options instead
  • Power — hardwired to your home's electrical system

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver, voltage tester, wire stripper
  • Wire nuts (included), ladder
  • Drill (only for a new junction box or non-standard ceiling)

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power — shut it off at the breaker panel and confirm with a voltage tester.
  2. Remove the fixture cover — twist or unclip the outer shade or base cover to expose the mounting plate and wiring.
  3. Install the mounting bracket — attach it to the ceiling junction box with the supplied screws, secure and level.
  4. Connect the wires — black to black, white to white, green or bare to ground. Secure each with a wire nut and tuck them into the junction box.
  5. Attach the fixture base — lift into place, align with the bracket, and secure with the provided screws so it sits flush against the ceiling.
  6. Reattach the cover — twist, clip, or fasten the decorative cover or diffuser back on.
  7. Restore power and test.

Good to know

  • Great for standard or low ceilings — hallways, bedrooms, closets.
  • Confirm your junction box can support the fixture's weight.
  • Follow local electrical codes.
  • When in doubt, bring in a licensed electrician.

The structure

Iron gridheld open to the light

The Kythnos is built on a geometric iron frame with clear glass panels — a structure that lets light out from every angle rather than directing it downward. The six exposed bulbs sit within the grid like elements in a composition, each contributing to the overall brightness. Up close, it reads as industrial craftsmanship; from across the room, it reads as a clean, graphic ceiling statement.

Frequently asked

The Kythnos is built from iron and metal with a matte black finish — a durable, lightweight frame that keeps its look without special treatment.

Six E27 LED bulbs are included. They slot into the open iron grid and are straightforward to replace when the time comes.

No — the Kythnos is designed for indoor use only. It's not rated for moisture or outdoor conditions.

The Kythnos measures 55 cm (L) by 42 cm (H) — a substantial fixture that anchors a dining table or kitchen island without dominating a standard ceiling height.

Six E27 bulbs, all included. Together they produce 72W (7,200 lm) — bright enough to properly light a large room.

The Kythnos installs via a pipe-erected method onto a standard ceiling junction box. We recommend a certified electrician, particularly for higher ceilings.

Yes — all six E27 bulbs are fully replaceable. Any E27-compatible LED rated at 90–260V will fit. The Kythnos ships with bulbs included so it's ready to hang.

Matte black — a finish that pairs equally well with warm timber tones, concrete, and white walls. It reads as architecture rather than decoration.

The Kythnos is ideal over a dining table, kitchen island, or in a studio or living space that needs a bold centrepiece and proper ambient light output. Note: not sloped-ceiling compatible.

Yes — all six bulbs are LED-based, significantly more efficient than incandescent equivalents at the same output. The 7,200 lm from 72W represents a strong lumen-per-watt ratio.
