The Object

Pattern pressed flatwood that reads like art

The Kullervo Wall Panel is solid wood cut and assembled into an intricate mosaic pattern — fine enough to read as texture at a distance, detailed enough to reward a closer look. The interlocking panels fit together without fasteners or adhesive, so you can cover a full wall or a single feature section and adjust it later without damage. Finished in walnut or natural, in three tile sizes to suit different layouts.
Why you'll love it
  • Intricate mosaic pattern cut from solid wood — texture at scale
  • Interlocking panels — no adhesive, repositionable
  • Three tile sizes for different wall layouts and spacings
  • Walnut or natural finish — works in modern and traditional rooms
  • Protects the wall surface underneath with no mess
Details

Three ways to install, depending on your panel — nail gun, peel-and-stick, or glue-on. Pick the one that matches what you ordered.

Before you begin

  • Prep — walls should be clean, dry, and smooth; remove dust, grease, nails, and flaky paint
  • Layout — measure and mark your starting line with a level and pencil, and lay out panels on the floor first to visualize placement

What you'll need

  • Tape measure, level, pencil or chalk line
  • Utility knife or fine-tooth saw, clean cloth
  • Caulk gun (if using adhesive), rubber roller (for peel-and-stick), brad nail gun (for nail gun install)

Step by step

  1. Nail gun — for thicker or heavier panels like wood/MDF. Locate wall studs with a stud finder and mark them.
  2. Nail gun — start at the bottom corner and align your first panel to your guidelines.
  3. Nail gun — fasten into studs — nails every 12–16".
  4. Nail gun — fit remaining panels tightly together and continue fastening. Fill nail holes with wood filler or color-matched putty. Optionally, add caulk between panels for seamless joints. Leave a 1/8" gap at edges for expansion.
  5. Peel-and-stick — for lightweight panels with pre-applied adhesive. Wipe the wall clean of dust and grease and let it dry fully. Measure and draw a level starting line.
  6. Peel-and-stick — peel and place — remove the adhesive backing from the first panel, align carefully, and press onto the wall starting at one edge.
  7. Peel-and-stick — roll it flat — use a rubber roller to apply even pressure, then continue placing panels tightly against each other. Avoid repositioning — the adhesive is strongest on first contact.
  8. Glue-on — for panels without adhesive, like solid PVC, composite, or acoustic. Clean the wall surface thoroughly.
  9. Glue-on — apply adhesive in an "S" or zig-zag pattern on the back of the panel.
  10. Glue-on — press into place — align to your guide marks and press firmly against the wall. Use painter's tape to hold it if needed.
  11. Glue-on — repeat and finish — continue with remaining panels, keeping spacing even and level. Wipe away any adhesive squeeze-out with a damp cloth. Let adhesive cure 24–48 hours before applying pressure or weight.

On the material

Solid wood, cutthen fitted without fasteners

Each panel is cut from solid wood, not veneer over MDF, so the grain and weight are consistent through the thickness. The interlocking geometry means tiles connect edge-to-edge without glue — the structure holds itself flat against the wall. Walnut finish runs a warm mid-brown with subtle figure; natural finish is lighter and closer to raw wood.

Innovative engineering · intelligent design
Three things worth knowing before you install.
Solid wood

Not veneer — solid wood through the full thickness, with consistent grain and weight.

No adhesive

Interlocking panels hold without glue — install, adjust, or reposition without damaging the wall.

Two finishes

Walnut reads warm and rich; natural is lighter — both suit living rooms, bedrooms, and offices.

Frequently asked

Solid wood — not veneer over a composite core. The mosaic pattern is cut into the wood itself, so the grain and finish run the full thickness of each panel.

Straightforward — the panels interlock edge-to-edge without glue or adhesive. Lay them out on a flat surface first to check the pattern, then fit them to the wall from corner to edge.

It works on standard flat walls — painted drywall, plaster, and most smooth-surface materials. On textured or uneven walls, surface preparation may be needed for a flat result.

Wipe with a soft dry cloth for dust. For marks, use a lightly damp cloth with a gentle cleanser — avoid soaking the wood. Reapply a light wood oil once a year to keep the finish consistent.

Yes — the panels sit against the wall surface, absorbing minor impacts and preventing scuffs or scratches. No adhesive means no wall damage when you eventually remove or reposition them.

Solid wood is durable — with minimal maintenance the panels will hold their appearance for many years. The walnut finish is sealed at the factory; reapply a light oil coat every year or two to maintain it.

Yes — a 1-year warranty covers manufacturing defects from the date of delivery, extendable to 2 or 3 years. Normal wear and natural wood movement are not covered.

The panels are solid wood — a renewable material. The interlocking installation requires no chemical adhesive. If you need certification details for a specific project, contact us before ordering.

No — the panels interlock without tools. A spirit level is useful to keep rows straight, and a saw may be needed to cut panels to size at the edges of the wall.

The mosaic pattern adds depth and texture to a flat wall — visible grain, layered geometry, and warm wood tone that reads very differently from paint or wallpaper at close and mid range.
