Concentric detailbrass without the patina

The Klar is turned from brass into a knob or cylinder, finished with concentric rings on the face and ribbed accents on the pull bars. Where the Kerteminde deepens with time, the Klar holds a brighter, more consistent brass finish. Smooth to the touch — the rings are visual detail rather than grip texture. Knobs, T-knobs, and four pull bar lengths up to 35 cm.
Why you'll love it
  • Concentric ring detail on the knob face — a geometric accent
  • Brass finish that holds consistent rather than developing heavy patina
  • Smooth grip — clean contact on kitchen or bathroom hardware
  • Knob, T-knob, and pull bar up to 35.8 cm
  • Suits traditional and contemporary cabinetry equally
Details

No wiring here — just careful measuring, drilling, and mounting. Mortice locks take a bit more patience than a simple knob.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — surface installation on doors, drawers, or cabinetry; check your product's dimensions for placement and drilling points

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), drill and drill bits, Allen key
  • Tape measure, pencil, level
  • Chisel (for mortice lock installation)
  • Screws and anchors, safety goggles

Step by step

  1. Cabinet hardware — mark drilling points — use a tape measure and pencil; a template helps for uniformity across multiple pieces.
  2. Cabinet hardware — drill holes — use a bit matched to the screw diameter, keeping the drill straight.
  3. Cabinet hardware — mount — insert screws from inside the cabinet or drawer, secure the hardware on the front face, and tighten without overtightening.
  4. Cabinet hardware — align and inspect — confirm straightness and spacing before fully securing.
  5. Thumb lock or dummy handle — confirm orientation — determine left- or right-hand door swing and adjust as needed.
  6. Thumb lock or dummy handle — mark installation height — typically 36–38 inches from the floor to the handle center; align the mounting plate.
  7. Thumb lock or dummy handle — drill and attach — drill pilot holes and secure the backplate and handle with the included screws. Dummy handles install directly, no latch mechanism.
  8. Thumb lock only — install the strike plate — mark the latch location on the door frame, chisel a recess if needed, and screw the strike plate in.
  9. Mortice lock — cut the mortice pocket — use a chisel and drill to create a cavity in the door edge, following the provided measurements.
  10. Mortice lock — insert the lock body — fit it into the cavity and attach through the faceplate with screws.
  11. Mortice lock — install the handle — align the spindle through the lock, attach handles on both sides, and tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key.
  12. Mortice lock — install the cylinder (if applicable) — insert the key cylinder and secure with the cylinder screw from the door edge.
  13. Mortice lock — mount the strike plate — align with the latch mechanism and secure to the door frame.

Good to know

  • Double-check measurements before drilling.
  • Use a level for consistent alignment across multiple units.
  • If you're unfamiliar with mortice installation, consult a locksmith or professional.
  • Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly before final tightening.
  • Dummy handles are decorative or pull-only — they don't engage latches or locks.

On the detail

Concentric ringsgeometric at the face

The rings are cut concentrically into the face of the knob — a geometric pattern that reads from across the room as a subtle texture, and reveals more precision at close range. The pull bars carry ribbed cylindrical accents on the end caps. All pieces are brass, finished to stay bright rather than shift quickly toward patina.

Frequently asked

Solid brass — knobs and pull bars alike. The weight is consistent with the material density; nothing is hollow or plated over a lighter base.

Kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, wardrobes, drawers, and furniture — any cabinetry with standard hole spacings. The range covers small knobs for narrow doors and long pulls for wide drawers.

Both — the concentric ring detail has a classic quality that suits traditional cabinetry, while the clean brass finish and precise geometry sit equally well in contemporary kitchens and bathrooms.

The concentric ring pattern cut into the knob face — a geometric detail that reads as texture from a distance and reveals deliberate precision up close. The ribbed end caps on the pull bars echo the same language.

Yes — mounting screws are included and fit standard cabinetry hole spacings. A screwdriver is all you need; no specialist tools or drilling required for most installations.

Yes — the brass finish is factory-applied to resist everyday wear, fingerprints, and light moisture. It holds its brightness over time rather than shifting quickly toward heavy patina.

Wipe with a dry or lightly damp cloth to remove fingerprints and kitchen residue. Avoid abrasive cleaners — they can scratch the surface. No specialist polish needed for routine upkeep.

Knob (D2.6 cm), T-knob (5 cm long), and four pull bar lengths: 13, 16, 23, and 35.8 cm. Hole spacings from 9.6 to 32 cm cover most standard cabinetry configurations.

Yes — brass hardware is well-suited to frequent daily use. The smooth grip surface doesn't accumulate grime in grooves, and the finish resists the wear patterns that affect softer or plated alternatives.

Yes — mounting screws are included with every piece. For non-standard cabinet thicknesses, standard hardware store screws of the same thread are compatible.
