The Object

Marble meets brassveined and unrepeatable

The Kirkja Knob pairs a natural marble disc with a brass fitting — the marble carries its own veining pattern so no two knobs look identical. Available in white, grey, green, or blue marble in two diameter sizes, it fits kitchen drawers, wardrobe doors, and living-room cabinets without modification. The brass fitting is smooth and weighted; the marble surface has a polished top that stays cool to the touch.
Why you'll love it
  • Natural marble — every knob carries unique veining
  • Brass fitting — weighty, smooth, and corrosion-resistant
  • Four marble colours: white, grey, green, blue
  • Two sizes: D3 cm and D6 cm — drawer and cabinet door
  • Smooth polished marble — cool to the touch, easy to clean
Details

Includes the solid-brass plate, toggle mechanism, and mounting hardware. A straightforward swap for an existing switch — power off, match the wires, screw the plate back on.

Step by step

  1. Turn off the power at your breaker or fuse box.
  2. Remove the old cover plate — unscrew it and set it aside.
  3. Take out the old switch — unscrew it from the box and ease it out to reach the wiring.
  4. Disconnect the wires — loosen the screws, or if back-inserted, cut and strip the ends.
  5. Wire the new toggle — live to the brass/black screw, neutral to silver (if your switch uses one), ground to the green screw. Tighten each.
  6. Secure the switch — tuck the wires back, align the toggle, fasten with the included screws.
  7. Fit the brass plate over the switch and screw it in.
  8. Power back on at the panel.
  9. Test — toggle up and down; the light or device should switch cleanly.

On the stone

Marble cut roundveining runs through

Each Kirkja knob starts as a slab of natural marble, cut to a disc and polished flat on the gripping face. The veining is in the stone — not printed or applied — so it runs through the full depth of the marble. Where most cabinet knobs have a uniform surface, the Kirkja changes slightly from piece to piece. Green marble tends toward darker, more mineral veining; white and grey read softer and more Nordic.

What to know before fitting the Kirkja.
Natural stone

Real marble, not composite — every knob has its own unique veining and tone.

Brass base

Solid brass fitting beneath the marble — the weight and grip come from the metal, not the stone.

Four stones

White, grey, green, and blue — each reads differently in the same room; mix within a finish family.

Frequently asked

Yes — the disc is cut from natural marble; the fitting and back plate are brass. No composite stone, no plastic components.

Marble veining forms during geological pressure over millions of years — no two slabs are identical. Each Kirkja knob is cut from a different part of the slab, so the veining pattern on every piece varies.

The combination of cool stone and warm brass is characteristic of Nordic material design — restrained, tactile, and considered. The knobs work best where the surrounding finishes are similarly quiet: white cabinetry, natural wood, or matte grey.

Yes — both sizes (3 cm and 6 cm diameter) use a standard post fitting that works on drawer fronts, wardrobe panel doors, kitchen cabinets, and most furniture with a flat face.

Straightforward — drill a pilot hole to the standard diameter, insert the post through from the inside, and tighten the nut. No special tools beyond a drill and screwdriver.

A standard drill with a 5 mm bit and a flat-head screwdriver. The post and fixing nut are included — no additional hardware needed for flat cabinet and drawer doors.

Marble is one of the harder natural stones and resists daily cabinet use well. The polished surface repels most stains; the brass fitting is solid and will not corrode in normal interior conditions.

Yes — 1-year warranty from delivery, extendable to 2 or 3 years. Manufacturing defects covered in full; natural stone variation and wear from use are not defects.

Wipe marble with a soft dry cloth; remove fingerprints with a damp cloth and dry immediately — do not leave moisture sitting on the stone. Clean brass with a dry cloth only; avoid acidic cleaners that strip the finish.

14-day returns from delivery. Contact us within 14 days if the product isn't right; items must be unused and in original packaging for a full refund. Natural stone variation in veining and tone is not grounds for return.
