A magnet in the head engages with a small strike plate on the door face when the door swings into contact. The door holds in position without effort; push it gently back and the magnet disengages cleanly without pulling or noise.
Yes — by holding the door at a fixed position before the handle reaches the wall, the Kibek eliminates the impact entirely. This is more reliable than a rubber bumper behind the handle and doesn't require any wall modification.
It suits most standard interior hinged doors — wood, hollow-core, and solid. The magnetic catch requires a small strike plate on the door face, which is included. It is designed for interior residential use; not recommended for fire-rated or exterior doors.
The Kibek is floor mounted using standard fixings to the floor surface. It works on tile, wood, stone, and vinyl. The curved base profile distributes door contact loads evenly, reducing wear on the floor surface beneath.
Floor mounted using the included hardware — a basic drill and screwdriver are all you need. Position the body at the point where you want the door to stop, mark the fixing points, drill, and secure. The strike plate attaches separately to the door face.
Yes — brass is inherently corrosion-resistant. All four finishes (grey, black, brown, gold) are applied over the brass base and designed for long-term durability. In high-humidity environments like bathrooms, the bare brass beneath the finish also resists rust.
Yes — solid brass and a magnetic catch mechanism are both suited to the higher traffic of commercial interiors. The compact floor-mounted profile stays out of the way of cleaning equipment and heavy foot traffic.
Minimal. Wipe with a soft cloth to remove dust and fingerprints. The magnetic mechanism has no moving parts that wear. Over time the finish may develop minor surface marks from contact — these can be polished out with a brass-appropriate cloth if needed.
