The body is gypsum with an aluminium backing plate. Gypsum is lightweight and takes paint-grade finishes cleanly, which is why it reads as a seamless extension of the wall rather than a fixture mounted on it.
Upward ambient light — the G9 LED sits inside the bowl and faces up, so the light bounces off the ceiling before it enters the room. The effect is soft and diffused, with no direct glare or hotspot on the wall.
No — it's rated for indoor use only. Gypsum is not weatherproof. It works best in hallways, bedrooms, and living rooms where ambient overhead light is wanted without the bulk of a ceiling fixture.
It mounts to a standard wall bracket and is hardwired to the mains. The aluminium backplate holds the gypsum body in position; all mounting hardware is included. Professional installation by a certified electrician is recommended.
Dimming is available on request — specify at checkout and we'll configure the wiring for a compatible dimmer switch. The G9 fitting is compatible with most standard dimmable G9 LEDs if you prefer to source your own.
White only — a deliberate choice that allows it to blend with walls and ceilings in virtually any interior. It reads as an architectural detail rather than a decorative one, which is part of its appeal in minimal schemes.
Yes — 5W at 500lm is efficient for ambient use. Because the light bounces off the ceiling rather than burning directly into the room, it reads brighter than the wattage suggests for the space it illuminates.
5W G9 LED as supplied. The fixture is designed around this output — going significantly higher won't improve the ambient effect and may overheat the gypsum body. Stick to 5W or consult us before substituting.
Yes — the simple, minimal form suits hotel corridors, retail fitting rooms, and office breakout spaces as well as residential interiors. Its flush profile keeps it out of the way in high-traffic areas.
A soft dry cloth removes dust from the gypsum surface. Avoid damp cloths or cleaning sprays — gypsum is moisture-sensitive. The G9 bulb is accessible from below the rim for replacement without removing the fixture from the wall.
