The Object

Rock facerendered in relief

The Karmoy panel is moulded from high-density polyurethane into a faithful 3D recreation of natural rock — ridges, fissures, and surface variation intact. The relief is deep enough that lighting across the wall throws genuine shadow, shifting the look through the day. Panels fit seamlessly edge-to-edge across seven finish options from warm earth to cool grey, and the lightweight material cuts with standard tools for any shape or size of wall.
Why you'll love it
  • 3D moulded surface — genuine depth, not a printed flat pattern
  • Seven finishes: black, grey, white, blue, gold, red, green
  • Lightweight polyurethane — no structural reinforcement needed
  • Seamless edge-to-edge fit for a continuous stone effect
  • Suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, and offices
Details

Three ways to install, depending on your panel — nail gun, peel-and-stick, or glue-on. Pick the one that matches what you ordered.

Before you begin

  • Prep — walls should be clean, dry, and smooth; remove dust, grease, nails, and flaky paint
  • Layout — measure and mark your starting line with a level and pencil, and lay out panels on the floor first to visualize placement

What you'll need

  • Tape measure, level, pencil or chalk line
  • Utility knife or fine-tooth saw, clean cloth
  • Caulk gun (if using adhesive), rubber roller (for peel-and-stick), brad nail gun (for nail gun install)

Step by step

  1. Nail gun — for thicker or heavier panels like wood/MDF. Locate wall studs with a stud finder and mark them.
  2. Nail gun — start at the bottom corner and align your first panel to your guidelines.
  3. Nail gun — fasten into studs — nails every 12–16".
  4. Nail gun — fit remaining panels tightly together and continue fastening. Fill nail holes with wood filler or color-matched putty. Optionally, add caulk between panels for seamless joints. Leave a 1/8" gap at edges for expansion.
  5. Peel-and-stick — for lightweight panels with pre-applied adhesive. Wipe the wall clean of dust and grease and let it dry fully. Measure and draw a level starting line.
  6. Peel-and-stick — peel and place — remove the adhesive backing from the first panel, align carefully, and press onto the wall starting at one edge.
  7. Peel-and-stick — roll it flat — use a rubber roller to apply even pressure, then continue placing panels tightly against each other. Avoid repositioning — the adhesive is strongest on first contact.
  8. Glue-on — for panels without adhesive, like solid PVC, composite, or acoustic. Clean the wall surface thoroughly.
  9. Glue-on — apply adhesive in an "S" or zig-zag pattern on the back of the panel.
  10. Glue-on — press into place — align to your guide marks and press firmly against the wall. Use painter's tape to hold it if needed.
  11. Glue-on — repeat and finish — continue with remaining panels, keeping spacing even and level. Wipe away any adhesive squeeze-out with a damp cloth. Let adhesive cure 24–48 hours before applying pressure or weight.

The structure

Moulded deepshadows fall where stone would

The relief on each Karmoy panel is cast from natural rock formations, capturing the irregular ridges and recesses that make stone look alive. At 8 x 90 cm the panels are narrow enough to handle alone and lay in any direction. Where panels meet, the organic surface pattern conceals the join — the wall reads as one continuous formation, not a grid of tiles.

Genuine depth

Moulded 3D relief throws real shadow — the wall changes appearance as light shifts through the day.

Frequently asked

High-quality polyurethane — a dense polymer that moulds faithfully to the original stone texture without the weight, moisture sensitivity, or structural requirements of real rock.

The surface is a high-fidelity mould from natural rock, so the depth, ridges, and random variation all read as genuine. The main difference is weight — real stone requires structural wall support; the Karmoy panels do not.

Yes — panels bond directly to the wall with construction adhesive. No specialist fixings or tools required. Panels can be cut to length with a standard saw, making awkward corners and partial panels straightforward.

Most indoor rooms, yes. They work well in living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, kitchens, and offices. For high-moisture environments like wet-zone bathrooms, use a waterproof adhesive and seal the edges.

Wipe with a damp cloth — the polyurethane surface doesn't absorb dust or moisture. No sealing, painting, or specialist cleaning products are needed under normal indoor conditions.

Polyurethane is impact-resistant and holds its shape well over time. The finish won't chip or flake in the way painted MDF or plaster reliefs can. For wall areas subject to direct impact, edge panels with a hard trim for added protection.

The material itself is moisture-resistant, but installation in shower or splash-zone areas requires a waterproof adhesive and sealed panel edges. For fully wet areas, consult a contractor before installing.

No — panels are bonded with standard construction adhesive and cut with a handsaw or utility knife. A spirit level and measuring tape are the only essentials. Professional installation is recommended for large feature walls.

They can be removed by scoring the adhesive bond — though some surface repair to the underlying wall is typically needed. Adhesive-bonded panels are not designed for easy relocation; treat them as semi-permanent.

The form is one stone-rock relief, available in seven finish colours: black, grey, white, blue, gold, red, and green. Mix finishes to create tonal variation, or use a single finish across the full wall for a consistent look.
