The Object

One familyknob, T-knob, or bar

The Kangersuatsiaq range gives you the same brass hardware in three forms: a round knob in two sizes, a T-knob for a traditional touch, and pull bars in two lengths. All solid brass, smooth grip, in brass, silver, and gold finish. Mix formats across a room while keeping the material and weight consistent throughout.
Why you'll love it
  • Three formats: round knob, T-knob, and pull bar
  • Solid brass in brass, silver, or gold finish
  • Two knob sizes and two bar lengths in one family
  • Smooth, comfortable grip for daily use
  • Suits drawers, cabinets, and wardrobes
Details

No wiring here — just careful measuring, drilling, and mounting. Mortice locks take a bit more patience than a simple knob.

Before you begin

  • Mounting — surface installation on doors, drawers, or cabinetry; check your product's dimensions for placement and drilling points

What you'll need

  • Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), drill and drill bits, Allen key
  • Tape measure, pencil, level
  • Chisel (for mortice lock installation)
  • Screws and anchors, safety goggles

Step by step

  1. Cabinet hardware — mark drilling points — use a tape measure and pencil; a template helps for uniformity across multiple pieces.
  2. Cabinet hardware — drill holes — use a bit matched to the screw diameter, keeping the drill straight.
  3. Cabinet hardware — mount — insert screws from inside the cabinet or drawer, secure the hardware on the front face, and tighten without overtightening.
  4. Cabinet hardware — align and inspect — confirm straightness and spacing before fully securing.
  5. Thumb lock or dummy handle — confirm orientation — determine left- or right-hand door swing and adjust as needed.
  6. Thumb lock or dummy handle — mark installation height — typically 36–38 inches from the floor to the handle center; align the mounting plate.
  7. Thumb lock or dummy handle — drill and attach — drill pilot holes and secure the backplate and handle with the included screws. Dummy handles install directly, no latch mechanism.
  8. Thumb lock only — install the strike plate — mark the latch location on the door frame, chisel a recess if needed, and screw the strike plate in.
  9. Mortice lock — cut the mortice pocket — use a chisel and drill to create a cavity in the door edge, following the provided measurements.
  10. Mortice lock — insert the lock body — fit it into the cavity and attach through the faceplate with screws.
  11. Mortice lock — install the handle — align the spindle through the lock, attach handles on both sides, and tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key.
  12. Mortice lock — install the cylinder (if applicable) — insert the key cylinder and secure with the cylinder screw from the door edge.
  13. Mortice lock — mount the strike plate — align with the latch mechanism and secure to the door frame.

Good to know

  • Double-check measurements before drilling.
  • Use a level for consistent alignment across multiple units.
  • If you're unfamiliar with mortice installation, consult a locksmith or professional.
  • Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly before final tightening.
  • Dummy handles are decorative or pull-only — they don't engage latches or locks.

The finish

Brass, silver, or goldsame weight, three tones

All three finishes are applied to the same solid brass base — the material doesn't change, only the surface tone. Brass ages naturally into a warm patina; silver reads colder and more modern; gold bridges the two. The range lets you choose tone without changing hardware supplier.

Frequently asked

Solid brass throughout — all three finishes (brass, silver, gold) are applied to the same solid brass base. The weight and quality of the material are consistent across every piece in the range.

The T-knob format in particular suits traditional cabinetry well. Brass and gold finishes are naturally at home in period interiors; the round knobs and bars work in transitional or mixed-era settings.

No — wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth to remove fingerprints. The brass, silver, and gold finishes are durable and don't require polishing; avoid abrasive cleaners.

Standard single-screw mount for knobs and T-knobs; two-screw mount for pull bars. Match your existing hole spacing to the available hole-to-hole dimensions before ordering.

We recommend interior use only. Exposed outdoor environments may cause the finish to patina faster than expected.

Three: brass (warm natural), silver (cool modern), and gold (warm polished). All are available across the full range — knobs, T-knob, and pull bars.

Yes — smooth surface, rounded profiles, and solid brass weight make every format comfortable to grip hundreds of times a day without discomfort.

Solid brass is one of the most durable hardware materials. The finish may develop a subtle patina with years of use — most find this enhances rather than detracts from the look.

One year standard warranty, extendable to 2, 3, or 5 years. Nava also offers 14-day returns if the format or finish doesn't suit your cabinetry.

Nava is an online brand — no physical showroom. Detailed product images across all finishes are available on the product page. If you have sizing or compatibility questions, reach out before ordering.
